His job is basically to fling long passes from deep, it's not surprising he doesn't have amazing completion numbers. Mo Salah and Marcus Rashford are the bottom two for successful dribble percentage (for players with over 1 dribble/90 this season, >2000 minutes), doesn't mean they should stop bothering.
I imagine if somebody (and no doubt they have) came up with some kind of statistic for total efficacy of 30+ yard passes, he would surely be in the top five in the league over the last three years. Maybe even the top one.
In football you can miss a lot if you hit enough times in the 90.
Van Dijk would be top 1 in that metric (and is another thing Liverpool are badly missing with him being out).

Stats without context are often a waste of time, yes. Accounts like the one RL posted are often guilty of that.
There has been a big uptake of people becoming invested in stats relating to the pandemic over the last year, and a lot more calling out of instances where they have been presented in a misleading manner. Haven't seen many accounts scoffing at the idea that you can use numbers to represent something complex that's happening in the real world.
I guess it's because people like to think they understand who is good at long passes and resist being told they're wrong by Opta (despite Opta having seen seen each of Conor Coady's 1200 passes this season). I don't think many people class themselves as intuitive infectious disease judges.

The biggest mistake people make with stats (I've become about 400% more proficient in the last year or so) is to bring their own preconceptions to the table and then look to make the numbers fit them. So what that twitter account will have done is look for an anti-Liverpool narrative after a defeat of theirs (for those sweet likes and RTs), found one, and posted it without any context or probably any thought as to what it really means.
What you have to do is start with the numbers and then work in the other direction. If I saw that Trent stat my next questions would be a) what does 'losses of possession' mean; b) is it something that full backs typically do a lot; c) is it something that set piece takers typically do a lot; d) where did he rank in this regard a while ago when he was considered to be in good form; e) etc etc.
Banter accounts don't have time or inclination for that and so poor information spreads.
Bruno Fernandes' pass accuracy percentage is another. A friend of mine used it as a way to show he wasn't a "top, top player". Every second pass is an attempt at a through ball, so of course it's low. But he only needs 2/3 out of 10 to go through and he's probably created a goal.
His STATS against ‘big’ teams are cold hard facts though. Decent player.
