Think I'm just used to it closing an hour before the first kick-off (didn't this used to be the case?) and now get flummoxed by it when it doesn't. I may or may not have tinkered with my team at some point in the week, I really have no idea and can't see at the moment whilst it's updating.
Last season there were a load of line-up leaks a few minutes before they were officially announced (an hour before kick-off) so I think it's to put a stop to that.
