I'm buggered if I'm reading all that at 2:41 am, but does it tell us anything we didn't already know? In other words, the stuff that was established with SARS and MERS after a matter of months? The TLDR at the top would suggest not.
Yeah, that says precisely nothing. One of the research scientists sounld have gone to the market. Superspreader event 1. Bang. Covid. Or - more likely - it was going around for quite some time and they only realised there was a problem when sufficient people had caught it. In this instance at 1 particular place of gathering. The market.
We will never know where it came from, just as we will never really know where HIV, Ebola and Smallpox came from.
Gays, blacks and peasants.

Pleasing to see it reaffirmed that the vaccines were never anything to do with profit...
I can't think of anything more American.
They will be blaming each other for inventing it by the time it gets to court.
Who's laughing now.
I coughed in a supermarket yesterday and for the first time for 2+ years wasn't autopiloted to subtle feelings of germ-spreading paranoia. Also came back from a festival this weekend feeling like utter death, very similar all-round symptoms to COVID and not a care in the world as to where I go and what I do, even outright lying to the dentist's question of COVID symptoms when arranging an appointment. We have fully healed from the traumas now, I think.
You may have done but I’d wager there are millions who haven’t. The staff at your dentist’s will no doubt include some of them.
Wife's got it. My streak may finally be about to end.
Doesn’t exist anymore, you’re safe.
Finally got it. RIP.
If we don't get reports of a 'Queue-based surge' in the next week, we should archive the thread.
The ads have started on the telly again
A certain type of American seems to still be actively trying to avoid it. This guy on a podcast I listen to was glad he hadn’t been invited to a public event so he wouldn’t have to make the ‘difficult decision as to whether to fly or not while covid is rife’. He also realised later that his booster was due around two weeks after the event so it definitely wouldn’t be a good idea to go without being boosted. 🙄
Surely at this point two and a half years down the line it’s a relatively known quantity and anyone remotely healthy should just stop worrying, but apparently not. 🤷
Yeah but the likes of RL can't be so complacent. Keep checking in here, buddy, we're all sending our best wishes for a quick and full recovery.
Can't help feeling that Taz post smells a bit insincere.
Not that he'd know
There's a guy I follow on Twitter who retweets a lot of people like him who are still paralysed by the fear of COVID. The latest is politicians celebrating Oktoberfest in a COVID rife tent enjoying beer without a MASK.
Wind it in you pleb.
There are lots of heads still gone, don't worry about that.
I had a bad head-cold the other day, but we binned all of the tests that were junking up the top of our fridge a week or so ago so I'll never know.
Cleared up in a few days so doubt it was the 'rona.
Yeah, when I got it I felt rough as fuck for two days and was back running by day four.
When I had COVID a few months back, I was fine until day 5 but had a few symptoms for a couple of days (headache, cold, asthma slightly worse) but was fine after a day or 2.
Lads, I beg you, stop it. Talk about the queue or something.
Mine hung around for a week but that was it.
I am due to test today having been positive last week, managed to avoid it all this time. Wife was sniffly last weekend, then by tuesday I started with it but she had been ok. Thursday morning I was wiped out, couldn't look at screens, muscles and joints ached, freezing but sweating buckets and generally knackered with cold and cough to boot. Felt better every day since, just a bit of a cough now. Score one for team flab.
Someone in my indoor football team still shows up to play wearing a mask.
There are still many professors requiring their students to wear masks in the classroom. Fucking mentalists. For them, this will never be over. They have found their calling.
It's what every academic has always dreamed of, with power and authority being transferred to 'the science', i.e. them as philosopher-kings.
Yeah, I'm going home. The CDC has rated Union County’s risk assessment for COVID-19 as high. Effective immediately and until further notice, the University has reinstated indoor mask protocols for all employees, students and campus visitors in all public and academic indoor campus spaces.
As I said (not quite at the time, but soon after) we should have stopped listening to those fuckers once the vaccine came along. They'd played their part by that point and should have been an irrelevance from then on in.
How some are still clinging on now (I haven't checked Deepti for ages, but I bet she still is) is a sad indictment of what happens when you give these people that much of a say in things.
You lot give it far more head space than the ones you accuse of having “heads gone”.
Not really, that's what, my 4th post on the matter in months?
Negative. Good job everything's closed
I think I might have it for the first time.
Test is showing negative but I've got a sore throat, head feels cloudy and I feel a little drained although the last two could just be because I couldn't sleep last night.
RIP fatty.
Shame your mums pregnancy test was.
