With the tumbler test, and GMTV reporting kids dying of it before I went to school. I can't have imagined them.

The reason the meningitis things that were big when we were kids aren't now is because of vaccines. I've never seen a meningococcal septicaemia in nearly two years of paediatrics.

The north (Hanoi) basically has it under control, but it had time to spread here in the south. 10,000 cases per day, strict lockdown, military still on streets, 6pm curfew.

10,000 isn't a lot grand scheme of things, but the Gov did such a shit job preparing for this, they have to stop it spreading.
Vietnam was one of the countries who originally managed it well. We closed borders asap and the whole of last year was like 2,000 cases. Then, in April this year, Delta arrived and now we're at 600,000. Gov thought they had won, and sat on the arse doing fuck all last year.
