Has anyone watched the latest season of B99 yet? Is it as terrible as the trailers and previews looked?
My parents watched The West Wing for the first time recently and said it was brilliant, but then they are themselves pretty dated, so I dunno.
My wife has not watched the West Wing, and we tried starting it not that long ago. It does feel quite dated. It is not about the topics, it just has a very soapy style. Now, I know it gets better, but you have to go past the initial hump, and I cannot remember how long that lasts. If you are ok with soapy stuff, then you will like it.
Hang on, did Giggles think I meant the West Wing is the Kevin Spacey show? I've just clocked that.
The Kevin Spacey show is House of Cards. The West Wing is this.
House of Cards was boring. I gave up on it.
The best thing about the West Wing is the laughable plot lines. Just clocked one on an episode summary upon clicking that link.
"As the Haitian army continue their seizure of the US Embassy there..."
First couple of series of HoC were great. Stopped after Kevin nonced it.
I've never bothered with the US House of Cards. I have a real, proper fondness for the one we put out decades ago.
The first season was peak TV. Spacey with a monster of a performance.
Well I still feel I don't really know what sort of show it is but it got compelling enough for me to want to finish it so.... good, I guess? Probably helps being short episodes, if it'd 8 episodes of 45-60 minutes I suspect I would have fallen away from it.
Might give that Witcher cartoon a go next like a NEEEEEERRRRRDDD and I want to give Cobra Kai a bash too.
Cobra Kai is really good though predictably dips in quality a bit in the second series.
New Mortimer & Whitehouse.
Finally started the world at war. Three episodes in and it's really excellent, obviously.
On ITV some time in the mid 70s.
It might be available somewhere now but I bought the dvd box set a few years ago when I couldn't find it on any streaming sites or even on the usual other places I look.
You can get them used for a tenner or sealed for twenty on eBay, or alternatively you can have mine when I'm finished with them if you're happy PMing me your address.
Or just watch them on UKTVPlay.
Fucking hell, get a bit of Michael Parkinson on this BBC docu on his shows. He looks like they liposuctioned the soul out of him. Brutal.
Just finished Clickbait on Netflix. Was alright, not ground breaking but keeps you guessing.
Watched Stephen last night. It was ok to good.
I may well do.
And that's why we're best friends.
Has anyone been watching Vigil? If you can get past the Captain being Johnson then it's a solid watch.
Looking forward to North Water which starts this week.
I've seen the first 2. It's decent.
Yeah, I'm loving Vigil.
I was enjoying it, and Paterson Joseph is so intense he is amazing. It is hard not to think he is going to call someone a turkey fucker though. However I am cooling on it after episode three where I felt a 'big reveal' was telegraphed and the copper's exposition heavy flashbacks are grating a bit.
Coogan as the lead in this Stephen Lawrence thing is very distracting.
I came here to post that after seeing him while flicking. PC Partridge is not something I could buy into.
Now get out of my head. My thoughts are mine. You're lucky You're bigger than me, stronger than me and a bloody nice guy or you'd be bang in trouble.
You get used to it as he's a pretty good actor. The bigger problem with it is that unless you've had your head buried in the sand since Stephen Lawrence was murdered you know how everything is going to play out and the dramatisation just isn't good enough for that not to be an issue.
Just seen that Amazon have Wheel of Time and the first series starts in November.
Really need to pull my finger out and get reading the books.
Whats the streaming site of choice nowadays? Im gonna do a rewatch and my torrent upload ratio is too low to get it from there.
I use lookmovie.io. They usually have some pretty niche films as well.
I use Movie Box Pro. It's invite only but I get one a month, if you want one?
What are you planning on watching?

I just finished season one or Snowfall. Very good.
Just when you think TV was as shit as it could be, youget exposed to the all new A Question of Sport during self isolation. Brutal.
The Hunt for a Killer on iPlayer is a very solid Scandi crime drama.
But the real gem that's saved me is Terrace House. It's a Japanese Big Brother/Love Island but with all the vulgarity and DRAMA taken out because they still operate a respectable culture. At least I thought that was the case as it truly is a real tribute to what reality TV was before social media and casting directors ruined it but turns out the show is no more after one contestant committed suicide after online abuse. At least it's reassuring to know it's a global problem.
Silent Witness was even dafter than usual.
Just finished Taskmaster NZ season 2. Probably the best series, including any of the UK ones.

Quincy making best friends all over the place lately
