It's up at the end of the year and EA's gone all, "Our game is bigger than the license. We'll keep the $150m a year, thanks."

Don't ruin my hopes of a good football game ever existing again.
Which reminds me, Super Mario Strikers is coming. Hope restored.
Who are we kidding, it will be garbage, like the tennis one was. Golf is decent.
I read that the FIFA licence just allows them to call it FIFA whereas another one (FIFPro?) gives them the actual teams and players that people want. If they call it EA Soccer or whatever people will just carry on calling it FIFA anyway I imagine.
I was pinning some hope on that new football game that West Ham and a few other teams have got on board with but it looks shit.
Looks an awful lot like a modded FIFA.
They can still call the 2023 game 'FIFA' but that's the last one that will be. They've already decided/been told that they aren't going to renew the license for it, but as far as I'm aware they do have the rights to players names and likenesses.
It'll likely just be a rebrand to EA Sports Football '24 or something similar. They could even just go for Ultimate Team '24.
If anyone has played it in the last 2 years there have been a few Italian teams that have revoked the right for their club to be in the game, so they just put the real player in a fake club. Example being Ronaldo playing for "Piemonte Calcio."
It has finalally come to at end. 250000 miles with GT Sport. GT7 tomorrow.
A week for platinum?
I'll be on it tomorrow. Today's been annoying with all the streamers playing it early in my recommendations.
The credits needed for some of the cars seems very out of whack and there does seem to be a timer with the car dealerships.
I really want to play it, fortunately I am balls deep in HFW so can hang on for a sale.
Ive been playing F1 since October and now im back on GT. It feels great. It is much slower than F1 obviously as it baby steps you through the license test and the slower cars. The Menu stuff still comes across as the typical Japanese humor which I don't really like. You cant unlock online racing until you have completed a few licenses and done some offline racing first.
3 licenses down. Easy to Bronze, tricky to Gold.
1000 miles in and ive got one license left to gold. Super10. It's a full lap of Spa in drying conditions. You go off-line and you immediately start spinning
Yeah, I tiptoed around that. The run to La Source feels kind of awful.
Gold licences done. The jumps on the dirt tracks are insane. The car bounces around once ut lands. Very unpredictable.
Aye, that seems wrong. Even the tiny hops have me guessing. Plus the AI's still rigidly stuck to the driving line in some of the missions. I'm in a Group B Quattro. You're in a F-150. Get out of my fucking way. My hopes of using Prize cars exclusively have gone out the window. As has no tuning. You get way too much of a deficit at some of the rolling starts.
Shindig vs Sincere in a lap around Goodwood, coming this Summer.
I'm a twit
Gran Turismo's AI has always been appalling. You would think that after decades they would make some improvements, but no.
They have some new AI system called Sophy which according to the videos, looks like a human controlled player who knows every single exploit.
Guaranteed 2nd place.
Anyway, I rolled credits on this and I'm a bit disappointed there isn't more to it. Once the cafe menus are done, you're basically in car and credit collecting mode. There's driving missions and licenses for some more prize cars but everything else seem to just hand out money. Can't complain too much, though. Handles well, decent selection of cars and it looks (sort of) good. Doesn't pop as visually as Forza or Assetto Corsa does but the little details kind of make it. I really like how the headlights reflect off other cars in pitch darkness.
One other thing about the AI is they do get twitchy and make mistakes. The jumps in rallies upset them as much as you and they do slide about a bit.
Got the WWE game to review. I leave the country next Tuesday but it did come with a list of known issues. Might get away with publishing when I come back.
It wouldn't be a WWE 2k game without bugs.
Dipped into an older Assassin's Creed (Syndicate) as I was at a loose end for what to play next. Jesus, it handles like arse. It's not even that old. Taking a bit of getting used to, to say the least.
I've also been meaning to replay The Last of Us Part 2 and Disco Elysium, so I've started both of those up again.
The newest patch for Disco seems to have massively improved the loading times, too, which is the only reason I haven't replayed it sooner.
I think I like this Konami.
There was a Turtles game we had on the NES where most of it was from a top down perspective which was rock hard, might be the one 50 seconds in. The good thing about all these remakes is that they include options to make it easier for people like me years later.
The first TMNT game in the NES was really hard, but I loved it. I am pretty sure that's the one you're talking about.
Turtles in Time is an absolute classic. Can't wait to play it again.
And then there is the new one coming out from Dotemu.
Early impressions of WWE 2K22 since playing through the Showcase mode:
Not as glitchy as expected but I don't like how they manage to avoid that. You get control taken away from you quite a bit, probably to make sure the animations line up. Feels a bit stodgy and I've never liked how the AI will look dead then counter on a whim. Speaking of counters, the windows on that are a bit inconsistent. Doesn't help that they're still small icons above your Superstar's(tm) head that you could easily miss. The tutorial explains the bare minimum but there's no analogue bollocks with submissions now. Like all these games, it just doesn't flow like a match should.
36 of the roster are no longer with the company.
The transition into video footage on the matches is nice on the Showcase mode. Although it does highlight, yet again, control being taken away from your for the cool shit. I also don't care for doing objectives in that mode. Partly because the AI's not exactly in on it. Why take 15-20 minutes trying to make that happen when I can just stomp them in 5?
It seems to be getting well received, although I'm still not sure how much of that isn't just relief after the complete disaster of the last one.
They've simplified stuff which makes it a touch more like a fighting game. I was able to pick it up fairly quick which is good. The whole reason I knocked the review back (till he just fucking gave it to me anyway) was because I knew how complicated they'd become. I'll get into the career mode today and figure some stuff out.
Can you download unlimited created people from online? Ie can I fill it with AEW people on Xbox?
I'm a twit
I’ll give the creation stuff a look tonight. Concentrating on Tonga Jeff’s rise to the top.
As for the community creation downloads, on the first page of the most downloaded superstars there is:
Kenny Omega (2 different ones)
Sting
CM Punk
Penta
Wardlow
Matt & Nick Jackson.
So I imagine you'll be able to get most of AEW.
This is all assuming it's not diabolical and you being better just waiting for the AEW game, presumably.
Nah, it's a much easier button mash to bring the bar in your favour.
I like it so far.
Found a bug with one move though. Front Flip DDT as a signature (corner vs grounded opp) does not work. My guy runs towards the opponent attempts to grab and fails.
Happens every single time.

Played a bit of Young Souls. Really good so far.
There are a few updates on GT which have broken the game.
They have added wind speed and direction which 99% of the time, will make time trial and license test impossible based on what the wind is doing
Some license tests and missions put you on the wrong tyres which also makes things even more difficult.
Oh, I saw the little m/s thing. I err ... thought it was elevation. I'm sort of giving up the license grind. This is what happens when every sim racer on youtube complains the tests are too easy to gold.
B: All Gold
A: All gold
International B: 7 Gold, 3 Silvers
International A: 3 gold, 2 Silvers, 5 Bronze
Super License: All Bronze.
Hardly seems worth the push for three cars you can buy from the dealerships anyway.
