Because pre season was crap and they're having behind closed door games with teams to bring fitness up for the squad. Same reason Burnley are.

Well, Burnley didn’t have a game at the weekend so makes sense for them to do it. I presume it wasn’t 1st teamers, mind

This was the United starting 11:

    Radek Vitek

    Marc Jurado

    Teden Mengi

    Jonny Evans

    Alvaro Fernandez

    Donny van de Beek

    Scott McTominay

    Hannibal Mejbri

    Facundo Pellestri

    Anthony Martial

    Omari Forson
It's just getting some minutes to those who need fitness.

Given everybody is now a fan of Asian footy... here is the draw for the Asian Champions League group stage.

Neymar faces a daunting trip to Mumbai, poor sod Benzema has a jolly to Baghdad and Ronaldo to Duhsanbe

    West

    East

In further bad news for Everton, their investment they got lined up over the summer with MSP Capital has fallen through. They're really going to need Wolves, Sheffield and Luton to outshit them.

Add Enciso and Luke Shaw to the list of players with a decent length injury on the back of the American football pitches and/or meaningless air mileage. It can’t be a coincidence at this point

While I do love the idea of blaming America for everything, could the fact that all these players have basically played pretty much non stop football with no longer than a 3-4 week break since COVID also be a factor.

Yeah, this was brought up by the players when they decided to take away their non-World Cup / Euro's summer breaks, but everyone just said "AWWWW POOR BABY CAN'T COPE ON Ł56739483 PER WEEK! NONE OF THE REST OF US GET THE SUMMER OFF LADS. GO BE TEACHERS IF YOU WANT!" and lol'd them in to silence.

But, to coin a Phonicsism, It's almost like being rich doesn't prevent fatigue.

I am fucking OUTRAGED. With those two points we would have finished 11th rather than 12th, the whole morale of the club would be completely different, Todd Boehly would have a much less concerning hairdo, etc etc.

Honestly, that result may have changed a lot. I don’t think Tuchel goes if he starts the season 6/6 as I doubt he loses to Leeds in the way he does if they beat Spurs

Probably for the best anyway, Tuchel was a wrecking ball after his missus left him

It's Friday night and I have to watch Chelsea 0-1 Luton. Fuck's sake.

I've been running through Seinfeld again of late so I might just stick on a few more episodes of that instead, we're basically run by George Costanza anyway.

How’s it holding up for you? I basically watch it through on near repeat. I absolutely
    Love it.

Silva header and morris pen would be lovely please. Fantasy drafted a bloody Luton player. So need some excitement.

What I will say for Jackson is that we are now shit enough that a Jonny Walters style run-around-a-lot forward who is not expected to score goals is the order of the day, and he's fulfilling that role well so far.

Quite a solid performance here against Bedfordshire's very best soccermen. Issues include depth in attack, Caicedo/Fernandez needs a dynamic (and taller) third, and you can just tell the goalkeeper is shit.

Is it just me being old and wildly out of touch that finds this whole Spanish FA guy kissing story a bit bizarre? Given the reaction you'd be forgiven for thinking he'd given her the full Donald J Trump "grab her in the etc" treatment.

I for one am all for the traditional continental kissy kissy greeting being outlawed on sexual harassment/equality grounds, so hopefully the outrage spreads that far.

I've seen passionate mediterranean men act a lot worse than that. When it wasn't a euphoric once in a lifetime 'event'. But simply because it was an 'event' with women around.

I don't believe they've ever been pulled up about it, but then again, they're not in the public eye.

This kissgate thing in Spain has been terrific entertainment, the very definition of how to win a World Cup.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66626410

"The evidence is conclusive," it said. "Mr President has not lied."
In its statement, the RFEF provided four images of Hermoso's embrace with Rubiales, with an analysis of each, which it claims demonstrates that she applied the force to lift Rubiales' feet off the ground.

It is absolutely mental. His job was dead the second he did it, but he may have been able to salvage some form of career by apologising and passing it off as sheer emotion and pride. Instead he's doubling down and saying it was consensual... mate. Come on.

In an age of an apology not really achieving much (as the Twitter court has already decided) I have to say I'm very much enjoying his doubling down and the apoplectic rage it's causing.

I dunno, it's Spain. Definite non-zero probability he can pull it off.
