Got a Quooker tap swapped some cupboards for pan drawers and changed the individual integrated fridge and freezer to an “American Fridge Freezer” which should be good. Also got a cupboard dedicated to my grass-cutting shoes.

This was the initial mock-up and changed it a bit today, but gives you the gist:

There's a 128gb Kingston SD card with an adapter included on Amazon for £5.

Probably the cheapest decently sized SD card I've seen in a while.

    New washing machine.

Paid the to remove the old one, take it away and install the new one. They arrived and announced there was no way the old one would come out of where it was, so I pulled it out for them.
They then umm’d and ahh’d about the new, same sized machine, fitting in and called someone. Handed me the phone and got told they wouldn’t fit it cos it wouldn’t fit. So I’ve asked for a refund and with help from my Dad, just installed it and fit it (squeezed it) into the gap.

Was just at my parents local supermarket in Greece. A block of feta is €3.50, the same block of feta costs about two quid in Tesco I'm sure. Average wage here is about 900 euro a month. Mental.

Yeah I'm a regular feta buyer and it's like £2.20 maximum in Brexit Britain.

What is going on there, just profiteering?

Same thing here: the Dutch grow a massive amount of fruit and veg but it's more expensive here than in the UK because it all gets exported (and Dutch supermarkets are a monopolist scam).

Flowers and plants are much cheaper though. Let 'em eat tulips

This is one of the best bargains I’ve ever seen on hotukdeals: https://www.hotukdeals.com/share-deal-from-app/4154480

Not a referral link. You get all Adobe Creativr Clouds for a year for £3.24, by pretending you’re a teacher in Lebanon. Insane value!

I was after a floor lamp for quite some time. I managed to find one on Facebook Market for a £10 which i went and picked up about 5 minutes form my house. I did that two weeks ago. The guy who sold it me, has message me back saying "ermmm my wife said I sold the lamp for too cheap" Even though it was listed for £20 for over two months before I bought it and I talked him down to £10 in three seconds.

Turns out, it was this one

Bought a Galaxy Watch 4 in the Prime Day sales.

Wanted the Ticwatch Pro 5 or a Galaxy Watch 5 Pro ideally. Sadly the Ticwatch wasn't discount in Prime day and the GW 5 wasn't discounted enough.

    How much was the watch?

I looked at the Pixel watch today, just too expensive at £350.

Bought buds pro last week - just returned them - very strange shape and never in the ears.

    £149 down from £199.

Pixel watch was never in the running for me as I don't like how it looks.

I have the buds pro and I like them, seem to fit me well.

My house has been inundated with parcels for the Mrs over the last couple of weeks, so - fearing a surprise bankruptcy - I asked her what's going on. It turns out she's discovered Temu. You know, the one with the irritating adverts:

So she showed me the shite she bought - and make no mistake, it is shite - and how much it was. I can only arrive at the conclusion that this is the pinnacle of capitalism. It's almost unfathomable how they're turning a profit. I can only assume slave labour is involved.

Todays package involved Eyebrow scissors 97p, Mario and Luigi hats £2.97 and 10 mosquito bracelets for £1.40. Free delivery from China. Mental. Shite and mental.

Clever stuff by the Chinese. Why bother with the faff of spying through Huawei phones when you can just flood the nation with enough cost-price tat that every woman in the western hemisphere develops an emotional dependency on your exploitative labour model.

Just popped my Temu cherry as needed a toothbrush case, angled soap holder and a fruit knife for my work lunches. Chucked in some nail files and a phone screen protector to get me to the £5 min order. Glorious stuff. The DHGate of stuff that doesn't need any specialised quality checking.

Been buying a load of old gamecube games recently. Reckon there’s about 450 or so PAL games so might just try and get them all.

Starting with the interesting ones ie the Zelda and Mario ones. Already discovered I have a disc only copy of Mario party 6 I wasn’t aware of and now have duplicate copies of Luigi’s mansion, mario kart, Zelda four swords and Zelda collectors edition.

Hooking up a gamecube proved to be way too difficult so I googled it and have since ordered myself a new cable. I’ve definitely had it set up in the past, but I’ll be damned how I did it.

I'm taking the plunge into an emulation machine but there's nothing quite like owning the actual consoles. It's tough though. I've a decent condition NES and a near perfect condition SNES but do I fuck have a TV I can easily plug them into now. Not like they would be looking great blown up on everyones big screen TVs these days.

It’s all online and some of them are surprisingly expensive.

I’ve just been looking at fairly recent solds to get a view of what’s a reasonable price. Paper Mario was the best part of £100 though.

Mario sunshine you can get for about £15 though, so it’s definitely a bit of finding what’s still kicking about and memorable.

I didn’t even realise twilight princess was released on gamecube and wii, turns out it was. £80 for that one.

Yeah, I sort of questioned whether to go older but I wasn’t involved in that era and the first stuff I remember is original PlayStation, Xbox and Gameboy colour/advance. I think I’ll try and piece together the Pokémon gameboy games next year and try and find a reasonably decent condition gameboy advance. I had the sort of clear pink one.

I think the cables are easy to find because Nintendo tended to reuse them across several consoles.

I wish I picked up that Zelda collection when I saw it years ago. I do own a copy of Wind Waker with Ocarina and the Master Quest bundled with it.

The Zelda collectors edition is only £30-35 so actually not awful. Same with wind Waker.

I’m sort of focusing on the expensive games first as I suspect they’ll the ones that would hold value. Pokémon gale of darkness is going to be crippling to own though. £250+. Yuck.

For the Gameboy cartridges, they used a small battery on board them to power the ability to hold your save data. Given the games are now 30 years old or so the batteries on them have seen better days. You can swap them yourself or get somewhere else to do it for you, but it's something to be aware of if you plan to play through them.

As long as you find the proper ROMs you're fine these days. The Chinese are blasting out handhelds that can do it on the go and they're quite good now COVID isn't halting their parts supply.
