I'm a recovering drug addict. Unfortunately always will be. I now have issues to tackle with alchahol, the moment I run out of booze I get a prang (thanks magic) so hard. I actually hate everything at the thought of not getting another drink. A tingling sensation of hatred and desperation.
So what selfless selfish addiction/uncontrolled habit do you have?

As do we now, essentially, with all manner of 'after hours' booze delivery services. I have a flier for one in the kitchen.

Thanks Chrissy. But nevertheless this wasn't about me. Everyone I have ever met as an addiction or a habit they can't budge. For me drugs then booze. For Simon - gambling and chocolate. I just wanted to start things off.
Ach well my addiction was/is booze. I keep off it for long stretches then lapse into a binge for a few days then lose a week + to depression. So I get how folk struggle. I struggle with it.
Have some mates that are coke fiends, hard going putting up with them on Saturday night.
I love smoking. I haven't in months now but I know one would be so nice now. Nothing else really, drink gets too hard on you with age so I could happily take it or leave it now. I was always a big believer in loads or none and the latter is less painful. The only time I have it now is when I'm really in pain already as it's better than any medicine.
Drugs are hard to quit. The socially acceptable and ease of access alchahol offers puts it in a different ball park.
Those aren't legal though.
How old are you? If you don't mind me asking? I'm buying an e cig tommorow as my mate is currently in intensive care following a heart attack in his kid 30's which has scared me a shit ton.
I'm sure that would really matter if you were gasping for one.

I have an e-cig myself. Have worked it down that I've 0mg nicotine in it now but I still puff it when I'm driving to stop me heading for the nearest shop for 20 Benson.

I played poker for a living and stopped for a variety of reasons. The crux of it was, I didn't like how the game was drastically affecting my moods and I wasn't earning enough money to make said mood swings worth it. It was not because I decided to punt all of my savings up the shitter on roulette or whatever. I still play poker for fun every now and then and I've never been a prolific sports/casino bettor anyway, so there's been no change there.
I have never behaved like a gambling addict, because I'm not one. I've lived with and seen people who are/have been addicted to gambling, so it's not like I don't know what to look for either.

Sure, and there are pubs that chance their luck serving carry outs after 10pm, but I was just saying the law here is still strictly no off license sales after that point. If John were to order anything there it'd be the seller that got shit for it so I don't expect him or any customer to worry much.

Yeah it's looking the heart defect root as he personally doesn't smoke or drink much and is only very slightly over weight. Was defribulated and needs a pacemaker. Although it wasn't his life choices that have caused it - it's still scary as shit seeing a pal going through it.

Oh yeah definitely not making light of the fact that it can be a massive shock. Whatever the reasons for his, it still can be a kick in the arse to not be on the road to one yourself.
I've had two mates have had them now, one had a double bypass and is still in bits months later but it was mostly diet.
One other thing on the e-cig if you're getting one; get a good one, they're worth the extra. I went through a few cheap ones early and you end up drinking more of it than you vapourise.
