My return plan may well be short lived.
I plugged in my PS5 controller to my PC to see how easy it would be to set up and it literally is as easy as plugging it in. First hurdle passed. The Mrs made me buy Hogwarts Legacy for her birthday and it works on that(as with the rest of Steam tbf). Second hurdle done.
Lastly I went to Gamepass to try an EA title as they're linked. I expected here to find some compatibility issues. But EA want you to use their own launcher through gamepass, I assume just to piss people off. Problem is for this you must link your EA and Xbox accounts. The same email bound to my Gamertag, is also the one on my PS5 tag. So I'm caught in an error cycle.
I can fix it I think, but I believe EA only allows you to change it once every 6 months. So if I do so I'm essentially committing to buy the new one on PC.
14 wins last week and 11 this week. Got Frimpong in Red and Rodrygo untradable. Cant complain about that really.

Did a bit of web app action and got the shitty GK from the Saudi one and Frimpong from the Bundesliga, who looks pretty immense.
Got on and found myself with a draft token. Got a pretty mish mash draft, with a few good cards along with a load of shite. First game was against a person with a guest. Felt like absolute chaos. Like building the plane while flying it. Was pleased to win 4-0, but a good player would have torn me a new one, I feel. Unsure if the experiment will continue.
I've also just seen they want 4m for a Prime R10 SBC. Fucking lol.
Only noticed just now that this years thread only has around 700 posts whereas previous years it’s been thousands. Is this years game especially shit?
For me, it's slightly worse than it's been previously due to the continuing decline of the pack odds, but the biggest problem is it's just the same thing again, with the same players getting special cards, for about the 4th year in a row.
I actually like this version a bit more (gameplay-wise) but it's definitely been a bit tougher pack-wise to get much back. EA definitely pushing everything to be untradeable and therefore it just becomes a grind to unlock players, which is a bit boring
I've got back into it over the last couple of days and those league SBC's are an absolute ball ache to do compared to how they used to be. The packs back are also dogshit compared to how they used to be.

I don't think I've actually liked the game for years (bar the odd patch) so I ended up leaving the game earlier than ever.
I really think that I'm done now and wont be ordering the next one.
I'm convinced the design flaw in the gameplay is that they base it on players standard stats. Hence why the game usually feels pretty good when it comes out. As cards get all of the juice through the year the game copes less and less well.
All players feel the same unless you have the 1% of the 1%
I'd love it if they took the opportunity of losing "FIFA" to really revamp the game but there's more chance of the Ukrainian hunting me down and asking me to marry her.
This is true. And the ones that are left are basically: "tall striker with shit balance", "big defender with bad acceleration", "small midfielder with low strength" etc.
It does make me laugh that the 'community' seem to be pedalling that line. Now they may not actually believe it and are just saying it to generate interest for their channels, but either way, there is no rhyme or reason why it would make any difference whatsoever.
Oh and Marcos Llorente from a La Liga upgrade pack. Finally something actually good since La Liga TOTS landed.
No TOTS Cup this week so I played my first WL in forever. Using a full Ligue Un team for that bonus objectives was not idea. I played literally one other person doing it too.
I ended up getting to 12-6 and gave away the last two. Which was all well and good until I remembered I needed to win 13 to complete the Ligue Un objectivesprobably should have called it before 1:30 am.
Ended up with decent picks:
Samba, Fofana, Marquinhos
Samba, Medina, Clauss
I took Clauss in the second. Him and Medina are close in price but I have FB Ramos to go with that Marquinhos. Probably pass on that Kimpembe now too.
And the TOTS Cup came today instead.

Last night's packed and crafted haul. Took 8 hours and started really slowly, but finally picked up:
Best packs were my very first Ligue 1 upgrade, which took ages to get to but had Samba as the face card and Nuno Mendes in behind and the actual best was the 85x5 from that dogshit super loan objective in milestones, which had Marquinhos, Ronaldo and three other high rated cards. My 84x25 from seasons objectives was absolute bilge.
Overall the trend I've been on since FIFA22 continues, I can only pack defenders and defensive midfielders and none of the good attacking based players. Looking forward to trying Okocha though who appeared last and saved the Hero pick from being a disaster.
Had a few packs left but needed to stop as I was running out of places to put 83 to 85 cards and the dupes were piling up.
Oh and I'm yet to get a TOTS from the 81/75 x 11, from La Liga or this.
I dont bother with any of the Objectives or Milestones. I dont go out my way, to get them.
Took the 1/5 Pick for Level 30. Best choice was the Ligue 1 keeper or a load of shitty fullbacks of which I had half already

Sissoko from mine, for about the 4th time. The mid cards being almost impossible to pack and the top end cards being impossible to pack, coupled with the dogshit league SBC grind really has made this game far worse than it was.
No Sissoko yet for me but I did get Marquinhos blue yesterday. To go with the red.

I am really struggling what to do with the level 30. Fodder pack is meh and I would 100% take the pick if it wasn’t Rooney as the other option. Tempting to take him.
