My theory with Mount, and I have watched him a shit ton, is that his arse goes in the big moments. He does massive amounts right. He does everything managers want him to do. He's probably amazing in training. He can have five great touches in a move but the key sixth one is so often a whiff. It must be mental.
You can probably get away with that in club football, to some degree, but in international football, if you're aiming to be in the final stages, no chance.
