Adrian
Do away goals still count in extra time?
The attempted save was worse than the attempted clearance.
Good to see that xG over-performance evening itself out.
Did Adrian pullout of the save?
A special European night at Anfield indeed.
Adrian needs investigated for match fixing. Fucking awful goalkeeping.
Charles Itandje would have stopped these.
Pick those out.
Jajaja.
Anfield is truly a fortress.
It's a shame this collapse didn't come a few months earlier.
Man Utd fans everywhere
If anyone was even remotely close to Liverpool in the league, they'd 100% bottle it from here.
Enjoy the parade JA.
Adrian is so bad. Karius standard.
I only caught the last 20 minutes, but it sounds like our lack of a proper goalscorer hampered us yet again.
Okay, I'm starting to seriously think they're finishing the season empty-handed.
Tough one to take.
Pretty sure Simone has only ever been dumped out of Europe against a team with Ronaldo in it. What a glorious night.
The Fox called it.
Just the league this year. Ah well.
Fucking City will win it now.
Coronavirus has clearly had an effect in the labs where Liverpool get all their drugs made up. Watch Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal fade away and ‘take time off’.
Wot. You’ve just went to back to back CL finals through scoring for fun
Indeed. We beat Barca 4-0 without Firmino and Salah.
Klopp makes it work, and as a trio they’re great - not denying that - but at the very top level they come up short individually. Possibly with the exception of Mané when he’s fully fit and firing.
Wind your neck in.
Who would you actually replace any of them with?
The thought of Liverpool fans talking about 'Timo' like he's their mate makes me sick.
Fucking Adrian has taken us out of two competitions now. What is it with Liverpool and useless cunt goalies?
I think it's less that they're not good enough and more that there's no one who really allows them a change of approach. Liverpool always struggle against teams that are good at sitting back and being well-disciplined (Atletico was probably the worst team to draw). Salah and Mane's lose a lot of their effectiveness when they can't get in behind a team's defence.
They could do with a decent targetman for games like this. Look how many crosses went in tonight. But none of the forwards have enough of an aerial presence to make much use of them.
That’s another matter. As much as I love the guy I do think Firmino could be improved upon. His stats just aren’t great.
Salah on the other hand posts great stats, but I don’t watch him with confidence that he’ll dig us out of a hole. I do feel that way about Mané though.
Maybe the standard of individual attackers is going down. This is as controversial as James saying City are the best team in the premier league this season.
Everyone struggles against teams who can defend properly. That's the point of it, and dudding against it says more about the workmanlike midfield stodge than it does the forwards who bum every other team to bits.
I'd suggest your first mistake is that you're looking at stats.
Other than snooker, I can't think of a sport they're more ill suited for than football.
He makes up for it in Skills.
Didn't want to be right about Adrian but, you can't win them all. I didn't like Atletico when the draw was made for this very reason.
By all accounts we threw the kitchen sink at them through 90 mins, just to be undone with very bad goalkeeping in extra time. The need for perspective is strong.
This is the first knockout tie we've lost in near 4 years. We also apparently played very well, just perhaps a true goalscorer in the middle is needed. I believe this may have been Firminos first goal at home all season? And we're in March.
Problem is, where does a potential new signing fit? The first team is very good and very good as a team. We've shifted from having a star man in Salah smashing records, to a team based game and have taken the rewards from that. How do you risk breaking that up? Perhaps this will show Klopp he needs to find a way to add in some more. I don't think Origi has made almost any contribution this season either which hasn't helped.
All games in England to be played behind closed doors. Liverpool fans won’t even see them lift a trophy
Yes but apparently had 62 crosses. And one was scored by a midfielder. My issue is with the forwards when they have to resort to crosses.
The 62 figure comes form here if you scroll down the bottom and click on distribution.

Sounds like Liverpool needs some Ighalo.
Simone and A. Madrid are fantastic at defending whether get it right. That shit isnt easy to do at all. You have to be able to beat and overcome all styles. Not every team plays the same way. It was a great performance over the two legs.
