I cannot fathom how these groups are allowed to do stuff like that. I saw one group on 24 Hours in Police Custody, and despite the police telling them that releasing the video might jeopardise their criminal case, they did it anyway. Which just shows that any claim that they're doing it "TO GET THE PEDOS" is total bollocks. They're just after social media fame.

"Hey, I'm talking to this child online. She sounds surprisingly adult. Almost as if an adult in a branded t-shirt is typing for her." Sketchy.

I remember watching a few of these hunter videos a while back and they didn't sit comfortably with me then, but it appears the internet is awash with them now.

As the video goes on I actually felt sorry for the bloke.

What if your particular kink was middle aged men pretending to be early teen girls, you'd be both very well catered for and totally fucked at the same time.

The people they tend to EXPOSE always seem like retards rather than cunning sex pests, although that could be part of the disguise.

There's a Channel 4/5 documentary specifically about that. I'm sure of it.

I prefer it. Saves a click.

Really he should make the image clickable to the article, but we can't have everything.

The point is that you should be able to if you want though.

    Yeah I'm with you.

However, why are they a thing? I've seen them on menus and they just look mental and I've never once wanted to try one despite being a fat bastard.

When I was a nipper, there used to be a thing in Kingston called Shakeaway (not sure if it was a chain, or if it still exists) that sold some truly legendary concoctions. Battenberg milkshakes, chocolate apple pie milkshakes, the works. This was in the early to mid 2000s, so Tony Blair's beady eye was focused on bigger fish like banning smoking (worst thing to happen to this country since the war) and we could sup our laughable £2.80, 600 calorie efforts in peace.

Nowadays there's a campaign group trying to ban any kind of fun, so you can't have any. There's literally one that wants to ban rugby in schools. I mean, fuck off. No one cares if your kid got trampled on. It's called bad luck. Watch that Peter Jackson war film and then whinge about unfairness.

I pretty much got a free pass from rugby by running in with the ball, spiking it and shouting TOUCHDOWN in my first lesson.

I wasn't expected to do a single thing after that which suited me.

As a hardcore smoker even I’ve come to terms with the ban being good.

Electric cigarettes I suspect. I have developed more respect for people who still smoke the original real cigarette. The way they just laugh in the face of death should be admired and applauded.

People liked to smoke in rooms with other people. Now they have to do it alone at home, or outside, with their fellow lepers by the fire exit, or stop smoking - and what replaces smoking? Sure, it wasn't good for them, but it helped make life alright. Banning smoking was the worst example of progressive educated people telling the bored working class to fuck right off, without ever having to actually meet them. It was the worst New Labour child of Thatcher's cult of nanny individualism. Oh, great, we're healthier and living longer now, without the smoke! Living an extra 0.7 years, all of it spent wondering what the hell happened to us, with that sickly modern pub smell around us, the combination of testicle sweat, Red Bull mixer and vomit.

And what about all the people who used to be put off going to places because of smoking? Oh, yeah, Zizzi is fucking packed out with them, and their fucking children.

If smoking was going to stop or die out for health reasons, then it should have been left to do so organically, with incentives or whatever, and people would have evolved, pubs would have evolved, society would have found a way in time, as it always does. Legislation just drops the guts out of society overnight. We're all told to be alone, now, live as useful economic entities rather than as human beings with failings, and you wonder why there's so much anger and isolation and why things like Brexit happen. Pig, in a cage, on antibiotics.

You couldn't smoke everywhere. The bar, for instance, usually was non-smoking.

I'm just a blanket conservative. Keep things as they are, and make 0-2 new laws a year to stop people from being exploitative dickheads.

Yesterday's smoking will be tomorrow's sugar, then it'll be meat.

Exactly. Pub landlords (and others) could decide where people would and wouldn't be allowed to smoke. If it made business sense, they would have non-smoking pubs. Guess what, though, hardly any of them were.

Mr Bromley said he was a bit sad to part with the timepiece.
But it made business sense, so it was the right choice.

Things exist because there is demand for them - until the law arbitrarily curbs that demand.

But there being demand does not make something right. We don't need examples for bad things for which there was plenty of demand until the law decided to curb that demand, do we?

With a similar crappy, childish logic as the two of you have used there I could demand that all crisps, chocolate and other such food be banned. Makes us all unhealthy, absolutely no difference to cigarettes whatsoever.

The ban actually made things more sociable for me initially. I'd be one that wouldn't rise my head in the pub in case I'd have to listen to someone so I'd always have the phone (or newspaper in the olden days), but having to go out to the smoking areas meant your end up talking to someone. Naturally, with people being twats and all, that died a death too and I just take the phone out when I'm there too but it was a bit of a change for a while. Plus (here anyway) most pubs have smoking areas with seats, heaters, and TV's so you end up just staying in it and going in to get another drink each time (my local has a bar in the smoking area for weekends anyway). Plus it has the added advantage of being able to tell people to fuck off in the summer when they sit out with their snotty little spawns and start faux coughing beside you.

Ever heard of secondhand smoke? That is the main difference.

Fwiw, I do agree that a lot of shit that is going on nowadays can be labeled as "progressive educated people telling the bored working class to fuck right off," perhaps including the smoking ban. Still, a broken clock and whatnot.
