I drove into Manchester the other day and that was bad enough. I can’t even begin to fathom the level of patience you need for driving in London.

London was fine to drive in but you needed to know your way around. If you start getting sat nav'd down major/durwood routes then it could become problematic.

I considered biking to work and getting showered there, but the thought coincided with the naval base having its water shut off because of Legionnaires', which is still sort of in place, so nothing ever came of it.

Walking to work used to be good at waking me up for a shift. I'd sooner do that again than cycle in.

I cycle most days. It gets you going in the morning and with flexi means I can cycle on lunch or get to the gym quicker. If the weather's shit I usually cba and drive but I'm getting used to showering at work regardless as I tend to get in as early as possible to beat the traffic and rack in the hours whilst nobody is around.

    Glasses broke last night.

Hinge on the right side seems to have completely given out. Thankfully it's covered by a warranty but I've got to use my shitty old spare pair for some time which have the wrong lenses on them so my eyesight isn't 100%.

98% sure that this is supposed to be 28.49 but the fact that it's automatic and I didn't have to do anything about it makes me feel okay.

Same here. All you have to deal with is them ringing every six months asking if you want the TV packages.

Sold a magnet on ebay that looks like a Pokémon card. Got left negative feedback because they received a magnet and not a card.

Item title says magnet; description says fridge magnet; photo literally says magnet on it. Surely that will be removed, right? I've "requested a revision."

Some people shouldn't be allowed on the internet.

    Robux.

Obviously the whole shebondle is a massive con, but I hadn't quite appreciated how much of a rort the roconomy was until my daughter was gifted a £20 robux card for her birthday. For some reason her account is in USD, which now seems to be entirely inescapable [no amount of VPNS or being in the actual UK will convince the fucking thing it shouldn't be dollar denominated which, as an aside, has its benefits] so you can't redeem the bastard thing. Neither can you create a new UK account and transfer/gift the accursed things as ROBLOX doesn't allow that, and any attempt to work around it is both a massive pain in the arse and also comes with a 30% tithe for the privilege. Seriously, if I ever come across anyone involved with this enterprise in person I am going to stab them.

Some lad in my daughters class told her how great Roblox is so it was the absolute end of the world when I said no to her getting it. Funny thing is I looked into it a bit (asked rllmuk) and had come round to the idea of her giving it a bash, but since school holidays have started she’s not seen that lad and has instead spent time with my cousins lad, meaning comic books became the best thing ever and £9.99 in WH Smith later, she’s been quiet as a mouse reading Looshkin The Maddest Cat In The World. Nice healthy silliness. As much as it pains me that it’s only £6 on Amazon, at least there isn’t Robux tax to follow, so it seems like a worthwhile compromise.

Post dispute update: I tried to claim for compensation and was denied, they offered me £11 postage despite admitting their faliures. They claimed despite being able to obtain a signature for the delivery the post worker says it was delivered.

I appealed this and they came back reckoning they have all the proof they delivered it including the signature. So now it goes to the Postal Dispute Board but I am hoping the fact they contradict themselves sways things my way.

This is a wife gripe rather than my own.

Her driving licence has expired and she can't renew it online because of some silly glitch with the new Brexit passports which denies DVLA access to the digital signature and photo. So now she's stood in line at the Post Office where she will have to pay more and wait weeks longer to get it.

On the plus side, we order my sons new one a few weeks back and it was through our letterbox within the week, which is pretty good going.

I renewed mine online a few weeks ago because I did an address change but had to renew as well because I was within six months of the expiry and it arrived in two days. No complaints with the DVLA, even though they're apparently perpetually on strike.

In Mexico when you apply for a passport you get it the same day. Same thing if you apply for a Mexican passport in an embassy/consulate over here. They basically print it on the spot.

I'm guessing if they say no the next step is to be small claims court?

This may be different for Joey Public, but a County Court Application is £335 at work. You can obviously ask to have them awarded if you win, but in all honesty I'd just take the hit on this one.

Yeah I think the Postal Complaint Board or whatever their called is the ombudsman for that industry. If small claims is too expensive then it'll have to be arson.

The money side is obviously annoying but the thing that would send me over the edge is them just trying to fob you off for hundreds on their own fuck up. Just admit you fucked it up and pay out ffs.

I barely know anyone in town as I've only just moved here. Igor has been here 4 hours in which time he's had someone want to batter him, made friends with a drug dealer and had a nice conversation with a convitcted murder.
