Literally the ones that consistently manage it the best for me are a pretty obscure wrestling podcast called the lapsed fan, because they operate under the assumption (correctly) that all the listeners are as autistic in their zeal for fake sports, and cus one of the hosts is a proper investigative journalist. So if you wanna spend 8 hours listening to discussions on the Vince McMahon steroid trial you're sorted.
It's actually why, to be fair, why YouTube is great for niche interest documentaries, cus you're not worried about explaining basics to normies. I learn more from blokes with a $500 microphone and premiere pro than proper stuff than "proper documentaries" these days.
The problem isn't just that they're accomodating newbies (which is fair enough for mainstream stuff), it's the additional assumption that everyone is a fucking idiot and obsessing over bollocks like "building a narrative".
Car bad, bike worse. Jesus christ that looked unpleasant.
As always, fuck BT and their tweet geo locking nonsense.
Holy shit. Thanks to all the sport in recent weeks I’m behind on MotoGP, just managed to watch Qatar.
There's more people on the grid than in the crowd
Also, Jools Holland is predicting McLaren to win...
All this hype for Leclerc to go into anti-stall off the line and Max to disappear up the road.
This grid graphic is fucking horrendous as well. So that's a full house in the graphic department, everything is worse.
Kev
To whom it may concern, Bottas is 8 places down after 2 laps.
McLaren in even worse shape than thought here.
Keeping a lookout to see if anyone else struggles with tyre temps out of the pit lane. Could remove a lot of the undercut potential if that's an issue from now on.
The blankets aren't as hot now so I wouldn't expect the undercut to be so powerful anymore thankfully. In fact, we might see the return of our old friend the overcut in some races.
Max flying on these new softs.
It would have been great for a while longer it seemed if Max didn't destroy that front right.
Max should have been a bit smarter there and done him on the 2nd DRS straight.
Merc having much slower pit stops than the others
Mercedes power doesn't look like the unit you want in your car now either.
The new safety car.
Kev
Absolutely stunning.
Get fucked Whinger Spice.
What a beautiful last few laps.
Great end to the race but it's still fucking dull having a Merc back on the podium.
Ferrari
Magnussen / Bottas
Horner
Ferrari really do have two nicest blokes in the world driving for them
That’s about as perfect as it could have worked out for Mercedes. They’ll improve the car back to the front of the grid after this long test and we all know Ferrari haven’t got it in them to sustain a title challenge.
3/4 Red Bull Powertrains did not finish the race with an engine issue.
Please shove Horner in front of every camera now please.
He'll call them Hondas today.
I had to leave soon after Verstappen tried to pass Leclerc three times and just came back to this result. The fuck happened to the Red Bulls?
EDIT: Wait, the engines blew?
Loving the looks of the cars btw.
Both retired, Max with some battery/engine issue and Perez with something similar although I didn't hear if he said the engine locked or he couldn't restart it after spinning at T1.
Cheers. I was hoping for a full lap of cars blowing smoke and putting oil all over the place.
It could have been all completely battery/energy related. Gasly has his engine completely shut off which caused the initial Safety Car too.
What’s the story with McLaren? Have they got the new regs completely wrong or what?
All of Mercs supply teams were bottom.
That was some funny shit at the end.
"Red Bull Power Trains" obviously didn't poach enough of the Merc folk.
Surprised Horner’s not blaming Merc to be honest.
Engines have been frozen so it's virtually impossible for the Merc PU to be suddenly shit. It's more a case of Ferrari PU regaining parity and the Merc powered teams having their own exclusive issues (eg. McLaren brakes, Aston ride height).
Mercedes were bailed out by the safety car, but they put themselves there with that weird stint on hards.
20-30 secs back in real world pace. They really need to find half a second a lap to be properly competitive.
Is all this just because he dared beat Sir Lewis? I mean, when you’re saying people shouldn’t move jobs then the barrel is being scraped.
I’ve missed happy Gunther.
I missed the race but Verstappen DNF both made me lol and sets the series up a bit.
Hamilton in inferior machinery
Hamilton showed more happiness over that third that practically any of his wins in the last two years. He could be a sight to behold this season (like Alonso 2012).
