I technically have 457 players but they're all basically useless.

Bruh, there isn't a single player in the game that's useless. There'll more or less all have their day for an SBC at some point.
Might self sacrifice down a level or two in Rivals just to try and help with the Ndombele objectives.
Only have 1/10 for the midfield maestro and 0/3 for the Ligue 1 scorers (I did have Atal score 1 in my last match off the bench but he couldn't get a second).
I did it all in Division 9 (probably the equivalent of someone good at the game being in Division 6) and it was a joy.
The system is fucking stupid and with all the XP/Icon Swaps on offer it's only going to get worse as the game goes on.
EDIT: To give you an idea, I used Loric Remy for the Ligue 1 scorers one. No chance am I doing that in Div 4/5. For the assists one I didn't need to win so I chucked games to keep me in Division 9 too.
I'll be managing things so I stay there for as long as I can.

Bruh, that looks like a fun team, maybe need to ditch Maguire and Blind though. They seems too slow. Van Der Beek might be a more mobile option
I suppose I should add that not being able to buy players would see me even more fucked and frustrated in the higher divisions than last year.
Vardy is pretty intensely overpowered at the moment.
In fourteen games for me he has twenty six goals and ten assists, with all of those games having been played in rivals. He's basically unstoppable when he gets running and something in his stats, I suspect his high defensive work rate in concert with his good for a striker defensive stats make him win the ball off defenders far more often than is decent.

Changed my team name to 'FREE WINS' and started tanking to get to division 9.
Just had a guy who instantly paused letting all time go then he refused to shoot when I moved my keeper away and then after I score an own goal he does the shush celebration whilst running to the corner flag.
I was so close to just deciding to fuck him over which wouldn't be hard as I think I won every division 7 game I had last week by at least 4.
You probably won’t need to drop as far as 9 Mahow, I’m only there because I threw all my placement games, but when I see an up to date list of what the rewards per division are I’ll make a move to it if it’s better than 9.

In your passing options... are you guys using assisted, semi-assisted, off....
I used to play with my through balls being completely off back in the day and I feel like I was fucking lethal but then when I got back into playing xbox (Fifa 16 or 17) for some reason I just left all of them on assisted.
I'm beginning to think if I could just take the time to adjust my brain to the manual settings I'd fare much better.

3/4 on All in, 2/3 on Origin Story and still 1/10 for Midfield Maestro.
Right now I'm just forcing the ball to IF Atal who comes on instantly but for a few games I had him on basic chemistry and his finishing was atrocious. For my last game I put a deadeye on him and he was lethal.
When I finish with the Ligue 1 one (hopefully in my first match tomorrow) I'll then just have to keep spamming through balls with my midfielders.
How's the self relegation going?
Having used him for a bit Ndombele is sadly not that good. Hopefully he gets an in form tonight.

Went down to 9.
First game I played in the division was against someone who had also self-relegated because they were division 6+ quality and I struggled to a 2-2 draw.
The other 2 games that I played were a puddle of piss. Had an early rage quit (with Atal scoring twice) and then I won 7-0.
Yeah, I’ve come up against a few people who were clearly doing the same thing, which is quite nice actually as it provides a tougher test and keeps the elo down.
I find him useful as a box to box player with an engine. An IF to take him to an 84 would be massive.

Yep yep. They aren’t going to be instant profit but you should see decent return on those. On the back of looking at that I went and picked up a couple of each of the cheap 86’s myself.
We should get Prem player of the month soon too, hopefully that will start to move the price of these players since we aren’t getting icon SBCs

Last night I chucked like 50 of my 75 rated golds onto the transfer market.
I generally kept the lowest potential price at 300 but then would bump up the buy now to 450-500 or something like that.
I was surprised to find almost nearly all of them sold at the buy now price :\
This also makes me feel relatively silly because I notoriously quick sale'd most of my lower rated cards I didn't think would get me anything other than the quick sale amount anyways.

Yup I've followed the bronze pack method, got.em all listed and made about 6k off selling them, having spent 3200 on packs. Small but easy profit.
Up to 74k now.
I'm starting to think it wise to just hoard every card rated above 82 or 83 and try to sell everything else for a (relative) premium.
I also had this Bundesliga 2 player from Germany that was a 75 gold sell for like 2500, luckily having checked his other cards on the market before throwing him on there.

I've been spamming the bronze packs to buggery and am up to over 1,000 players now.
Think I've just guaranteed Rank 2 in Div 9 Rivals which is 2 Prime Electrum Packs and 4 Jumbo Premium Gold. Not worth the extra effort vs the 2 Mega Packs for Rank 3, but I was a fair bit of the way there after doing the Ndombele objectives.
Just got the 10 rivals matches with midfield assists left (8 in total) for Ndombele.
