Have put myself together a pretty swish team now but with enough average mooks left that there's still something to build towards. Got 120k left to do SBCs/trade. The Silvas from City are both fairly cheap, considering their ratings. Also picked up Kane and then Rodri, Macguire and A W-B's OTW cards.
I feel like generally this year they've rated players lower so that they can release more IFs and other random shit.

Kroos from my Milestone reward pack for winning 50 squad battles. I got excited when I saw it was a walkout again. I keep packing the shittest ones though.
Seems odd to me you can get Vertonghen and Alderweireld, both 87, for the same cost as Laporte, also 87. It has to be nation and the strong links to City players.
Laporte is relatively quick. If you look at the top selling players, it's basically all the ones with 70+ pace.
Laporte has 64 pace, Jan 63 and Toby 64. One of the reasons it makes little sense!

Squad Battles and Bonus Pack rewards:
Kyle Walker, Jumbo Premium Gold Pack unlock (never seen that before), Ramsey (thought it was Bale for a minute.) and a few 82s but none of any note.
I'm still yet to pack an 83 in this game. Will be making an effort in Rivals this week to push for Weekend League points. It would be good to get a couple of early good red picks.
Still running very basic starter squads with about 50k in the bank, and yet to decide on where/who to upgrade.
Nothing for me.
Hoping the hotel I'm in this week has better WiFi so I can play Rivals without tremendous lag.
65k for Walker is sooo tempting, but on the flip side he’s a Prem full back that will be at least competent for the entire game cycle and other than SBC’s, of which there are no desirable ones at the moment, I don’t really need the coins.
Oh and up to 160k of coins on hand now too. I really need to go through my club and gut the profitable items. There must easily be enough there to take me to 250k now. Long slog doing it though...

He is probably ridiculous on this game. He always is due to his physical attibutes but this game seems to love everything EA will have rated him good at.
I have 3 objectives left in Ndombele. Winning games with the Ligue 1 front free was rough. Base Ndombele and Lloris will be my token frenchies to complete the rest!
Just three more games in Rivals with an assist from a base midfielder needed to unlock Ndombele.
Once that's done I might sort the club.
Any tips for the headering based objectives? With heading so unbelievably broken it's some sort of sick joke to put those in.
Just packed Witsel from the Brandt SBC. Tempted to build a squad around him, but he's worth 40-45k. Should I cash in?
I just dropped down a level on the AI, played the shitters and continually spammed crosses. L1 Square floaty cross got me atleast one of them.
The ones I have left (Oktoberfest and Gold Week 1) have to be done in Rivals.

I wouldn't mind and to be fair I probably don't, but it would be useful if there was an indication from EA as to how many of these shitty objectives you have to do to get rank 30 by the time 'season 1' is up.
It should be about 150% of the level 30 target XP for that period available, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was 105%, or they just flat out balls it up and don't offer enough for anyone to get there.
EDIT: I've just hit level 13, so only 78,000 XP to go. I know how Sincere felt on Gran Turismo now.

The OTW cards look awful on the squad screen. All blurry and the star crosses the border edge of the card.
Two assist games to go for me for Ndombele. I think I need to go back to the drawing board with team set up. Teams are all over us.
I don't think they're meant to have upgrades this year from what I've seen on Twitter. Still a cock up that they've been released already though.
I ended up selling Witsel for 45k, and I've been chipping away at the various objectives. Level 9 for the season now, and halfway to Ndombele.
I got Lenglet in my weekly packs, who goes for about 75k

I think people just don't fancy his chances at an IF but he is getting games as Zidane is rotating a lot.
There are some seriously cheap OTW's. Might be worth a Joelinton and Maguire for when then SBCs come around later, never mind an IF.

Yes. In previous games desirable SBCs that aren't rip offs require 84's to complete.
Due to the demand, people buy them all up when one drops and the price shoots up. For example Illaramendi last year was perfect. 84 rated, great nationality, league and position. You could buy him for 2-3k and then when the SBC dropped most times you'd double your money or close to it.
If you have more coins to invest and can hang on for a bit Busquets is great value. 89 rated and under 20k ish. Cheaper than most 88's.
I'm going to hold fire for a bit, but if you time it right you'll triple your investment.
