The specifics of Lenin's embalming are quite fascinating. The body on display is largely prosthetics from the waist down. One hell of an achievement but the whole body isn't intact.

It is fascinating. It sounds like they just keep him in very controlled conditions and re-embalm him every 18 months. Apparently when they originally, temporality embalmed him and then laid him out it was -7 degrees in Russia, so he was still in good shape a month and half later and they just decided to try and permanently preserve him. 98 years later he's still (sort of) there!
Can confirm this to be the case.
Think all funerals on Monday being cancelled didn't help much.
