Except maybe Tronald.
Except maybe Tronald.
About 75% of Gervais' activity on Twitter is him liking and/or retweeting praise about his shows (especially Derek).
Ricky Gervais sucks. Even Americans agree.
It's his desire to suck up to Americans that has been his downfall. A bit like Tony Blair, really.
The Office is still the best comedy ever made, but fucking hell he should have retired a decade ago.
Ricky Gervais is awful on Jim and Sam radio. He just goes over the same jokes that he has been leaning on for the last 10 years.
Gervais and Linnehan are both utterly deranged. I think Gervais is just a narcissist and an idiot, but Linehan has genuinely lost his mind. Almost feel sorry for the bloke.
@phonics Linehan has been obsessing over this trans thing for ages and I saw someone on another forum half-jokingly suggest it was because he can't handle criticism, and after he got loads of shit for his (genuinely really unpleasant) portrayal of a trans character in the IT Crowd he's basically doubled down and intellectually justified it by finding a way to hate trans people in a righteous way. And a recent interview basically fucking confirmed it was 100% true. Have you seen the clip in question?
Except this bloke.
I'm a twit
Magic in a few years.
Ricky Gervais hasn't been any good since about 2007. He's fully gone now, I thought he had it in him to stop being a dickhead and turn it around, but I was wrong.
This tweet is particularly amusing, given the grovelling apology he made when he was called out for calling people mongs over Twitter.
The answer to liking him again, as with all people, is to not go on Twitter too much.
I took some shit on here about ten years ago for saying I thought Stephen Merchant was the more talented of the two and would wind up with a better, more varied career. I didn't predict Ricky Gervais becoming a giant arsehole squatting over the internet, but I think time is bearing me out on the Merchant thing.
I tried to find the interview and found this where he goes on some bizarre rant about Ian Huntley becoming a woman and naming himself after one of the girls he murdered and follows it up with "Even if this isn’t true, the fact that it’s even possible if cause for concern" which is just mental.

edit: It's the episode where Douglas finds out he's dating someone who 'used to be a man' not 'someone from iran'
What I want to know is how the pair of them somehow came up with certainly the best and most original sitcom of the last 30 years, if not longer. Talk about being greater than the sum of your parts.
Gervais May never be as good The Office again, but the section on why he doesn’t have kids from his last stand up was comedy gold.
Nathan Fielder is the only good comedian
If that’s who I think he is FUCKING SHIT.
Sorry that was my gut reaction. Googled now and yep it’s the Nathan For You Guy. I swear whenever someone says that show is funny they are completely trolling. It must be one big online wind-up because it’s the most painstakingly rubbish and unfunny tv show I’ve ever watched.

Noel Fielding is the worst comedian on the planet. His Fly 'stand up' made me want to inflict serious injury upon my person.
I used to hate him but he's really grown on one me since his Taskmaster stint and Bake Off.
I still maintain that Bob Mortimer is the funniest person on the planet.
The fact Bob Mortimer had a career at all still baffles me but then again as far as humour goes, we are worlds apart as countries on the whole.
Noel Fielding's brand of surreal nonsense only works when there's a framework imposed on it. When he's writing his own stuff completely unrestricted it's just complete horseshit.
Just incase someone hasn't seen it and is fond of self harm.
noel fielding is 45, what a sad act
You off your meds lad.
i watched a couple of nathan for you episodes and had a reaction similar to Baz's, which is surprising because it sounds exactly like the kind of shite i usually love
I loved Nathan For You. The finale was a thing of beauty.
yeah it's fucking hilarious, now change your vote

The Office is indeed perfect. Outstanding from start to finish.
The Chapelle outrage is predictably hilarious.
They want everything to be like fucking Nanette.
I urge anyone to see how long they can sit through Brendan Schaubs hour, Rogan should be ashamed for causing this. I don't think I've ever hated anything more, I went in already hating him but this just compounded it. Literally anythings possible if Scab can call himself a comedian.
Chappelle’s still funny but is getting annoyingly preachy, which sucks because i don’t think he’s very insightful when he does it anyway
His style is exactly the same.
America is fucked with how serious they take stand up specials.
Off to see Andrew Schultz tonight I cannot wait for him to rip into the first heckler.
Bryan Callen was on the 2Johnnies on Monday, never knew he even did stand up. He's a mad cunt.
Just purchased Louis CK's new special.
Chris D'elia getting shit on
The whole LA comedy/podcast Rogan circle are infuriating.
I have a friend who lives [illegally] in Los Angeles, and his estranged [scam] wife claims to be a stand-up comedian. The way it works is that they all just perform at the same crap venues, and then go on each other's podcasts to talk about anti-depressants. Ten years down the line, three of them have become famous, ninety-nine per cent of them have moved on and got proper jobs, and the only people left on the 'scene' - and who haven't actually got any funnier - are people like Chris D'Elia and Marc Maron, which gives them sufficient name recognition to be a big noise.
There's only been about 3 funny Americans in history.
Patrice O'Neal is probably the American comedian I've laughed at most.
