I've blown it. Sorry boys. Did so on Friday evening. Was high on emotion at the time, and didn't want to post when my nerves were frayed, so I've taken the weekend, had a few beers, and I'm gonna lay it all out, get all the detail in, and then you can call me a cunt.
What killed us was I was hoping for a bounce on the Nasdaq. Not a reversal, but a move of a couple of hundred pips. Pretty standard behaviour in a downtrend and called fading the move. However, I tried to force this and got in too heavy too early (using combination of standard trade and options = increased leverage) in a position I normally wouldn't. Did this as had convinced myself it was going to go and was trying to force my way in. This is called FOMO and being a twat.
So basically I was punished when the market reversed quickly and put us 50% down, then held simply because I was too far in the red and hoping for a couple of grand back, but the market continued to move against us, added to options losing value on time as well as movement, was a recipe for complete fucking disaster. We needed to take substantial risk to build the account enough for everyone to make good profit, and these risks need to be taken to multiply an account so many times, BUT it's about well timed risk and on Friday it was poorly timed and I ended up boxing us in with fuck all room for manoeuvre. Sorry boys.
So the progress that we made. Essentially we got 1/6th of the way to target. Not financially, but with compounding and the way we were building the account. Obviously this means fuck all now, but I am going again with that considered, but will go alone this time (not assuming for one second anyone would want to invest more money, but I wouldn't accept even if they were to offer). There is 100% categorically a negative influence on decision making essentially having an audience. On Friday I felt a bit of that, feeling I needed to move the account along as we'd stagnated. Sits with me, but it was a factor. Moving forward, I'm definitely having both a bigger slow build account and smaller aggressive fuck yeah account, because this has been a bit of an eye opener as to what is achievable in a short amount of time, whilst spending limited hours at the screen. Just a bit less aggressiveI'm telling you this because...
I take losing other people's money seriously, so I'm going to throw in some compensation 'guarantees' if I manage to make it stick, as everyone had the faith/FOMO/stupidity to throw £25-£100 in and I want to return something for that. This is the main thing I've been weighing up over the weekend and needs to be fair to both me and yourselves, as it will now be coming from my pocket (I know, I know), but if I get in a strong position I'm happy to share some as a show of good will. What we're going with is...if I make a mil at any stage in my life through trading I will send you all £250 - £1,000 depending on your stake. If I make 5 mil at any stage in my life through trading I will send you all £1,250 - £5,000 depending on your stake and if I make 10 mil at any stage in my life through trading I will send you £2,500 - £10,000 depending on your stake. It's not one or the other. It's all 3 as I move through the gears. So if you put £100 in you can still make £16k top end. This includes Magic, as even though he was being an arse, he's lost just like everyone else. My word is my bond, this will happen if I get there.
