Surprised Bim has gone considering he's stood up heavily for Boris (and Theresa May before him).

Doing that on telly is low rent enough, but on 'Talk TV'? Sad.

He won't resign for any reason - foolishly, as for every day he clings on, the more of an unserious figure he becomes on the historical record.

It is absurd that they couldn't organise themselves to do it last month. Dorries et al should be led outside and shot.

On the not resigning thing, I agree, but you have to wonder whether he isn't genuinely mentally impaired.

And the mentally impaired bit comes in if he thinks hanging on for what, the xth time now, is going to do anything for is reputation other than make it even worse.

The type of people who get into these jobs (same with the people they surround themselves with) are inclined to think they can turn it around. Theresa May had to have her Brexit deal chucked back in her face repeatedly; George Osborne was leaking his leadership ambitions as David Cameron packed his furniture; Gordon Brown sat around trying to put a coalition together that didn't exist... David Cameron was the exception insofar as he was only ever Prime Minister as a hobby so didn't really care. The political diehards are all partially mental.

I'm not sure I'd describe Boris as a political diehard. He's seemed quite ill to me ever since he stopped being London mayor / since Marina kicked him out.

I was thinking earlier what he could do in retirement and there can't be many options. He isn't sufficiently connected (or liked) for the corrupt 'advisor' roles, he can't just retire and get fat like Cameron, and you can hardly go back to writing lol Telegraph columns after being a crap Prime Minister. He might actually starve to death once the memoir advance has been pissed up the wall.

You think he hasn't done enough favours for the rich and powerful to keep him comfy? The more crooked you are, the more success you'll have out of it.

Boris Johnson's whole career has been about falling upwards. He has no idea how he got there and is probably terrified out what unemployment (or retirement, whatever) will bring. His wife is his carer and she's also conveniently retarded. All his jobs have been in the press or terrible books with his gormless face on the cover.

    And he's American.

The fashion for retards that have come a cropper is to pretend they believe in mental Conspiracy Theories and disappear down the Noel Edmonds Magical Cancer Box rabbit hole with Tronald, Hopkins and David Icke.

He's like some kind of cross between T1 and a cockroach at this point. Whenever you think he is fucked he just carries on as if nothing has happened it just seems like this circus is going to carry on forever.

He'll be fine, he will just charge triple what he used to on the after dinner circuit.

I don’t understand these politicians like Sunak. Why is the latest revelation enough for him to resign but the prior 3 years of corruption and lies was all fine and dandy? Why are they prepared to back the guy through such garbage but this is what pushes them over the edge? You’ve either got morals or you don’t and these resignations just look like more BS politics.

Does health secretary count as one of the great offices of state or is that just home, foreign and chancellor? Can't have been many (or any) to resign twice from office under the same PM.

Country's probably better cobbling on under Johnson than letting Javid and Sunak (and their banker mates) run things.

The obvious answer is Prime Minister Jeremy Hunt. It will happen one day.

It’s a pathetic state of affairs for the Conservatives and therefore the whole country when Hunt is seemingly (by far) the best option as leader. That chancer raped the NHS.

The arch-boomer in our office is on a mad one today.

'I don't care what anyone says - I still love Boris'

'Rwanda's a beautiful country, amazing scenery. And you know, one of the people on the plane said they wouldn't have come here if they'd known they'd be sent there. So it's a good policy, doing its job.'

'Keir Starmer. It's disgusting. The beer, the curry. How dare he take Boris to task.' (when it's pointed out Keir leads the Labour party) 'Does he? I thought he was Conservatives.'

Would Ben Wallace ever be considered a replacement for Boris? You never hear his name come up and yet he seems to actually be competent at his job and comes across well in interviews.

He was getting grilled to the point of mockery by the committee straight after PMQ. Some cunt even tested his knowledge of imperial units in what was a line of questioning straight off of twitter.

Credit where it's due, it often feels like these fuckers are bulletproof but this intensity of scrutiny is what separates this country from the true corruption countries. He's clearly feeling it too so at least we can take comfort in the fact it's shaving considerable time off of his worthless life.

Flicked it on now and he's getting absolutely shelled. The people grilling him are treating him with the respect of a junior minister too.

He looks ill and I genuinely think he's deranged.
