As if melons are even worth talking about.
As if melons are even worth talking about.
Proper melons are elite but unfortunately, as with most fruit, not in Brexitland.
Noodles are such a fucking cunt of a food. Is it only because of European packaging or are the noodles in their home country all bunched together so they don’t want to come apart too?
Boil some water, plonk them in, turn the heat off and leave them alone. Never had any trouble will them staying clumped together.
I usually chop rice noodles up a bit with a pair of scissors mid-cook.
Eating noodles when you could just be eating rice? Poser.
I feel like I'm living in bizarro world, you just wait for them to boil and then stir the pot. How is someone being bamboozled by a food made for broke students.
I kick the packet around and then boil the crumbs into a porridge-like slop.
I found different, un-nested, noodles in Tesco on my way to work this morning. I still didn't buy any microwave rice.
"Un-nested noodles" sounds dangerously like spaghetti.
Vacuum packed udon.
Didn’t expect to see Giggles calling people a don, but here we are.
I'm a twit
Made ramen with pork belly, shiitake, egg (which I overcooked as you can see) and homemade noodles.
Your broth looks like pure soy sauce. I approve.
I think I added more of the Tare than I should have when plating up but it didn't take overwhelmingly salty/soy.
The pork belly was ridiculously nice.
I'm with Giggles on the noodle front, dried egg noodles can stay stuck together if you don't poke them about enough, which is easy to do given they're only in for a few minutes. A drop of sesame oil in the water works a treat, I guess you could use any oil but sesame tastes good if you aren't rinsing them afterwards.
Fred Sirieix notwithstanding, those Lu biscuits are absolutely tremendous.
Beef tenderloin room service
There are few things in the world more annoying than an unnecessary salad.
I had one served up with a pie and chips once and I wanted to punch the chef in the face.
Aye shite didn't get touched. Gave me bread too wtf ya doing like.
Bit of bread and butter to mop up the gravy would be alright there, to be fair. Salad has no right to be there though. You want some peas or something with that.
Got some low moisture Fior Di Latte off t'interweb which is the proper stuff for pizzas. Works so much better.
Best attempt yet fo sho.
I'm guessing you fried the scrotums in garlic butter for a starter?
I presume you're talking about the fennel sausage, which was BANGER.
That looks absolutely rancid.
The sausage looks like it came from something that died about five minutes ago and was brushed against a flame, other than that, loving it. The cheese is mouth watering.
The pizza it's self is fine, it's the meat. Is it actually raw or does it just look it?
I bought some moody foreign popcorn today, and it turns out to be made in [the] Ukraine. The brand is 'The Panda', and here are all of their flavours as listed on the back of the packet:
Salty
Sweet
Cheese
Sour cream and herb
Bacon
BBQ ribs
All reasonably normal up to now
Cherry (hmm)
Mushroom (right?)
Crab (?)
'Jelly with horseradish'
Impoverishing ourselves for these freaks.
That reminds me of Japanese crisps. They love wacky flavours like Blueberry.
Don't they go mad for weird Kit Kats too?
Indeed. Japanese corner shops are amazing in general.

In other food news I made a first attempt at making cannoli the other day. The pastry wasn't quite right and I could have lived without accidentally dipping the tip of my finger into 180 degrees of oil but all in all not unhappy with them as a first attempt.
I've been a big fan of RL's pizzas until the one just posted.
I was even more disgusted when he revealed it was fennel sausage. I'd have preferred if they were fried scrotums.
The mushroom popcorn is probably banging.
Photos of meat are always terrible. That should have been in the rules for life.
I'll be honest, I didn't expect RL's cancer balls to have been met with anything other than 'Mmmmmmm delish' by the gammonati, especially after that disgraceful exchange on salads.
Imagine thinking your opinion is of any value in the food thread when you can't taste.
I don't do opinions, I deal in facts.
