And you'd be right not to. @DS

I did put £100 in, but I'm not claiming anything off it. Just increases the total bank.

Just handed back £100 on gold.

Tough one to call, gold. One of those markets where I think you just buy when it's going up and sell when it's going down, which, and I know this sounds ridiculous, is more of a curve ball than you might think. Seems to ignore a lot of my favourite signals on the shorter time frames. May have to cut it from the list (which is a shame, as it's good on the daily chart and the options spreads are nice and narrow).

Urgh. Hate feeling bullish and Asian market has blasted it. Try and find some possible late runners, or get on a pullback if we get one.

£8,849. Hoping for 10k by the end of the week. Nasdaq in a really interesting area. Weekly 8 MA as a resistance @ 14,093. We're all in on a short at 14,090. Hoping tomorrow will be known as Black Friday and it drops 2k, but a couple of hundred pips will do. S/L TAF.

Basically, hope for tears on Wall Street tomorrow and headline news of a drop.

S/L moved to entry, so no risk. £300 up on it, but being held up at the min. Gut instinct is it comes back and stops us out, but not taking the £300. The big move is worth sacrificing it for.

All I want to know is why I'm having a beer in a Glasgow pub right now and not already having mojitos with some slapper in the Caribbean. Sort it out Mellin, lad.

Finished the week on £9,297, which is some going. Shame we didn't break 10k, but we'll get there. That number is significant because if I quote the earlier shit screenshot which I don't think anyone can see:

We have now greened off the entire left hand column, so we're essentially 1/6 of the way to 11 mil...within a month. Exciting. Just need to repeat that performance 5 times and we're there. Things accelerating noticeably now with position size too, so any medium sized moves are a grand profit. Only trading the morning session today, which was choppy as fuck, so niggled a bit out here and there. 1/6 though. Fucking yes.

Where did the 11 mil target come from again?

And how much is that if you put in £100?

Also did anyone look into tax yet?

Having only invested 50 quid, the irony of me having to spend a hefty chunk of my untaxable earnings on my tax bill would weigh heavy. But paying said Tax bill would then allow me to liquidate my pension, giving me access to the 180k that everyone else earned so lets fuckin go boys.

Even for all of us? Does it still count as spread betting if you give your money to someone else to do it for you?

Claim it as a gift from Mellin, you'll only have to pay tax if he dies within 7 years.

I had a look at Cash Gifting and it does look like a hefty amount of Tax.

    https://moneyfacts.co.uk/savings-acc...-tax-affected/

We may need financial advice if this goes big. Potential for buying assets and gifting those instead? Then we just sell the asset. Needs looking into.

Or set up a company divided up between us, buy a load of property, rent it out and have a tidy income each month? This has the bonus of forcing Boydy to either sacrifice his share or become a massive hypocrital landlord scum, which does need serious thought. Some things (like bants) are bigger than money.

Mellin can use his millions to relocate to a more tax friendly environment, or just withdraw the funds [I have no idea how this works - ie where does the money live in practice?] to a Channel Island account [for example ] where you are pretty much free to do what you want with your money.

I told the wife I stuck in £100 for the bantz.

She rolled here eyes but our agreement is that our earnings are ours to do with as we please.

I just get semi regular 'so have you lost your banter funds yet?'

That's just in the context of IHT though. Returning profit to TTH wouldn't count as a gift.

No idea on whether income/dividend tax or CGT would be the relevant tax for (1) what Mellin is doing, or (2) investing as a syndicate in what Mellin is doing.

Sounds like people are happy (1) is exempt but (2) seems less obvious.

Agreed. It's certainly not a gift as you have all made an original investment. Spread betting is categorically tax fee, so no concerns there, but there may be complications over investing in MellinCorp. I'll help in any way I can and deliver the funds however you request (within reason), so worth looking in to.

Having said that, I will be retired, so spending the first couple of months hand delivering suit cases full of cash sounds like a decent start to retirement to me. So within reason has some scope. Basically just needs to be legal(ish).
