In other news, 34 80+ upgrades left to do, it's been a fair slog I must admit.
He doesn’t look terrible. Better than a few years ago when they had his composure at 58.
How have you made out? I have done <30 and have been keeping track on a spreadsheet at home. It’s been ok for fodder. That and some saved packs are why I did the icon instead of just doing Mahrez.
I haven't opened any yet. I might crack a few if a decent team 2 comes on Friday. I expected them to be dogshit though so good to hear it's been ok for fodder.

Unfortunately I packed a Man Utd Brazilian midfield special walk out on Thursday rather than yesterday.
Would have been nice to get Fred rather than my second untradeable IF Casemiro
Packed my first Centurions last night. First was Calabria from one of the 80+ packs (I opened all of them) and the second was Iago Aspas from the League SBC Prime Electrum pack.
Up to 201 packs for TOTY now, all decent ones.
How did you do on the 80+
I think I am at about 4 walkouts from ~75
It was bad. A couple of walkouts, a shit Centurion, two low rated IFs, one 85 and some 84s.
But I guess not bad for the effort it took and I still have all of the objective packs from it too bar the Gold Premium players one.
I got two 85 centurions, both of the shit Germans, last week. Don’t even get near any Bundes team I could put together
I bought Fred - didn't get a chance to play with him too much but seemed great in the couple of games I tested him out in. Also got Lisandro Martinez who's a tidy card.
Ended up opening about 10 packs as I needed some fodder (including the first 100 player pack). Didn't pack anything of note but just about enough to re-roll for another 100 pack.
My 100 this time around was bang average. Ended up just rolling most of it into another premium league SBC cycle
Did Mhki but I am still deciding if I want to do Mahrez.
Need this icon pack to pump up my 84s.
Will I have learned my lesson from Sanchez? Probably not.

My club is going to be absolutely mudded after I've finished all of these upgrade SBC's. Christ knows how I'll do the ones that come next week.
Oh and nerfgate has been fun. It staggers me that people thinking a company charging £30 for an untradeable pack, full of absolute bilge for the vast majority of people, wouldn't be up to all manner of other shady, but still just about legal, shit.

A piss poor effort compared to previous years, but I've hit 250 packs.
Should be able to grind the upgrade packs you see at the bottom of the below (numbers include all recycling) too, so even if the odds will be the worst ever I think I'd be slightly disappointed if I don't get one.

I've not got many saved (40-odd?) but some good ones - 83x25 x3, Centurions and a few ??x11 being the big boys. Will probably rip the small packs sooner and save the big ones for when the whole team is out
Saw a post on Reddit the other day mentioning there were some nation-specific packs in the WC mode (83+ for a few nations) that would have been targeting a really small set of TOTY nations/ratings. Should have kept them

Though the free kick animation is very slow so people usually put people on the line
I used to use Ballack as a free kick taker in(I think) '19 for that very reason. They could move the keeper during free kicks then and would wait for his run up to start before moving said keeper over to the place most shots would go. But I'd do a power free kick aiming right to the side where the keeper was stood. So many times they'd just let Ballack thump it into an empty net and then they'd quit from embarrassment after.

The Agent doesn't really play anymore.
Although I'm sure I'll do a couple of SBCs now and then this week.

I actually have a pretty good MLS team - Higuain, Chiellini, Insigne, Pato, Herrera and that Luquinhas. Bale is probably good enough to just play on zero chem, but if you can get a Welsh manager he'll have 1 point which isn't too bad.

No TOTY year but did open a few of my random shit packs to chip away at Bale and Ramos. Nothing special unfortunately.

Tried Gareth Bale on the left in a 3-5-2 (which he has perfect stats for), on full chem and what a disappointment.
Really? Shame.
I am going to try him on the right or upfront. I know he can play LB and as tempting as it is, I think I will ignore it.
Ive never enjoyed playing with players like Bale and Sane. Playing them out wide, and I could never get the most out of them. Playing them as a CM, always worked better for me.
Yeah, I think Bale might make a great DM or CM, his running style in game is just nothing like those marauding runs he used to do down the wing, but the rest of the card is solid.
