    8th June baby.

Be straight on the phone to the English private dentists and will travel far and wide to pay circa £1,000 for this root canal.

My dentist called me up yestersay to confirm my regular hygienist appointment I'd booked pre-lockdown. Absolutely buzzing for another act of normality.

That's that British attitude that's got you people in the mire you find yourselves in. Baz Luhrmann really should have added regular visits to hygienist to daily flossing.

Just found out work started antibody testing for staff last week so booking in for a test. Don't think I've had it but will be interesting to see.

Much like the quarantine thing, regardless of the efficacy of these measures, the timing of them is just bizarre. Why wait 11 days if you (now) think this is the right thing to do?

I saw a couple in Saisnburys last week both pairing builders dust masks with very obviously swiped from under the sink marigolds.

I think with this and the quarantine they really want to bring the numbers down to a point where the rest of Europe feels alright travelling to us. EDIT: Checking amazon for face masks. Looks like its a minefield of the same thing being sold at different prices, each with suspect ratings.

I might just cobble something together.

    Are they being provided?

So glad I’ve no intention to leave the house until the end of July at the earliest, and even then I’ve no plans to get on public transport.

We had confirmation yesterday that we'll be working from home for the rest of the year. I fully expected it. We had been looking to get our own office before this all happened and move out of the WeWork style place we were in. With it being a short term contract, it makes sense to cancel it now and not pay for an office that no one is using.

Then when things get back to normal-ish we can either find our own long term office or probably go back in there as apparently they're half empty now.

Similarly, our office move scheduled for Nov 20 has been shifted to March 21 and I don't expect to go back into the old office. Wonder how long before companies start voiding the London weighting.

My unit moved from London to Portsmouth about a decade ago, and there are people still receiving it as part of their terms for moving with the job, so I would guess never.

I mean us lot in the public sector obviously but once private ones start thinking about it with this digital by default bollocks, it could turn. At which point I will be off to Belfast.

I think I raved about it before, I'm sure the rest of Island is just as good tbh but I've only experienced Belfast to date. It's got it all but it's largely down to the Irish being simple folk like myself. Music, drinking, humour and nature. They operate on my frequency. Plus the women are tidy and it's relatively cheap af.

Well no I mean assuming my salary stays the same which, London weighting aside, it would. I have a colleague who trained up with me who went over there and bought some 4-or-5-bed mansion with acres of land and I'm here sleeping in my bathtub.

Not having to squeeze everyone into cities every day from 9-5 would be a massive positive change. There's still some great perks to living in a denser population area (amenities etc.) but it'd give loads of people the opportunity to disperse around the country. You'd still need transport and logistic hubs but we mostly have those in place and they've just been stress tested to the max and didn't really fall down.

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/global-h...research-finds

In one study, 79 per cent of the men suffering with Covid-19 in three Madrid hospitals were bald. The study of 122 patients, published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, followed an earlier piece of work among 41 patients in Spanish hospitals, which found 71 per cent were bald. The background rate of baldness in white men of a similar age to the patients studied is between 31-53 per cent. A similar correlation was found in the study among the smaller numbers of women with hair loss linked to androgens.
And you all lolled at my paranoia.

Donald Trump has said he hopes George Floyd is "looking down right now" and saying the decline in US unemployment announced on Friday is a "great thing that's happening for our country". The president said: "Hopefully George is looking down right now and saying, 'This is a great thing that's happening for our country. It's a great day for him, it's a great day for everybody. It's a great day for everybody. This is a great, great day."

Cases have started spiking again in Utah. 400 new cases yesterday which is the highest single day total we’ve had.
