It'll be Switch or PS4 for me. Probably the former.

I apparently saw "Street" in your post and assumed you were just talking about Street Fighter and didn't actually read it, hence my confusion about the co-op.

Yes, I'll definitely be up for Streets of Rage.

Apparently you can do four person couch coop, but only two players online. Sad. This could have been the return of THE THIRD HARD.

I'm so bored that I'm going to play Madden for the first time since about 2004. This'll be fun.

This has proved very useful advice so far. My other main lesson so far is that if there's some sort of weird, disconcerting sudden noise then somebody has probably just popped out of the wall directly behind me.

I do like it though. It's definitely an almost complete reinvention, slower and weightier and genuinely quite unnerving. It's made me jump a couple of times already. I have to think a lot more about what I'm doing in terms of tactics and weapon selection too, I can't just run around blasting the shit out of everyone with the shotgun. My only minor gripe is that annoying survival horror trope of the flashlight with twenty seconds worth of battery.

It's a beautiful looking game too. It does show it's age a bit in the facial animations and the character models, but aside from that it looks fantastic for something that's 14 years old. The environments and lighting still look genuinely impressive.

I don't think I ever finished it because I got a bit bored of the cupboard backpedal loop but I liked the atmosphere and stuff, even though I'm sure a lot of it is generic-y "evil corp undone by ungodly experiment" stuff now.

I finished the Mutant Year Zero DLC over the weekend and while the ending / boss is a bit weird I will give it credit for having a final boss fight that still plays to the stuff you've been doing through the main game, using ambushes and stealth. It did occur to me that as I was going through it and using the new character's abilities quite rarely that while the "kill enemies to recharge abilities" thing makes sense because (unlike XCOM) only the battles are turn-based so they can't just be on a timer it means I barely use some of them. I'm a bit guilty or trying to hoard them in case of a time of desperate need which often doesn't come so if I was doing a further playthrough I'd be a bit more generous with those. Definitely worth a go for any XCOM fans though.

Next up is either Darksiders 2 or The Light Keeps Us Safe.

I've never seen Peaky Blinders but we seem to be getting a game of it in the vein of Commandos / Desperados / Shadow Tactics.

Also I've made a start on Darksiders 2 and it's good fun. And more open than I expected, I had it in my head that it's a bit linear rather than having some Metroidvania-y aspects of backtracking and exploration via unlocks.

    Seems they replaced my PS4

So fucking odd, just without touching it it just dies. That's probably me fucking Horizon Zero Dawn off I think, not sure I can be bothered to restart ALL of the progress I'd made. Also means my NG+ planned for Witcher 3 is fucked off as well. And I have to re-download Red Dead Redemption 2 which was like completing a whole game in itself.

    Ugh.

Anyway, all things considered, it's probably better getting a brand new one than them wiping the old one and replacing something in it.

Downloading Horizon Zero Dawn again, but not sure I can muster the motivation to start off from the top.

Also downloaded The Outer Worlds so may give that a go for now. Is it any good?
Typical Bethesta, lots of exploration and mediocre main story, or?

Dying to play FFVII remake as well but also kind of want to get an idea of how spaced out the game(s) will be. Don't understand how they made a whole full game out of just Midgard.

They did it for the nostalgia pulls. From what I gather, they want to veer away from the original story a little. I hope Part 2 opens with Aries getting stabbed. And then the whole game is retelling how she got stabbed.

Depending how long it is I dunno if I'll bother seeing it through to the finish as it was free from Epic anyway but Darksiders does seem like a fun combination of inspirations so far. Sands of Time-y style platforming in an open world with a bit of combo-loving action-ness.

Plus I can summon minions to do some of my dirty work for me which is always a winner for me in this sort of thing.

This aspect of it is becoming increasingly tedious, I've got to be honest.

With that and Quake 4, it was truly impressive how ID managed to fuck up their two main franchises for years. Quake's never recovered.

See I quite liked Quake 4 at the time but I don't think I'd ever played more than a little of 1 or 2 at a friend's house and Quake 3 Arena so I didn't go into Quake 4 with any expectations.

I really wish MotoGP 20 had some sensitivity settings. I cannot brake without the rear coming up. I cannot accelerate without the rear sliding out. The latter has no penalty but the big bikes love to do it every time the hammer is down.

Any opinions going on Fallout 3 vs New Vegas?

I'm sure @Yevrah will have played a shitload of both.

From what I gather it's kinda what you'd expect of Bethesda vs. Obsidian, with the latter trying to be more interesting and characterful but also jankier.

Got an alt problem on WoW [Classic].

My "main" is a level 60 rogue but now I have a 33 priest, 30 hunter, 25 druid and 19 mage.

I think I'll crack on with the druid, but with The Burning Crusade Classic now being all-but-confirmed, I'm tempted to create a warlock. Decisions, decisions.

Both are superior to 4 when ignoring their graphical inferiority. New Vegas is regarded as the absolute best though, and rightly so. A lot of hardcore Fallout fans from the first two entries were unhappy with 3 not just because it went 3D but because it wss suggested they trimmed a lot of the fat from the world building dialogue trees, cause and effect etc which New Vegas absolutely has more of. A lot of people badly desire a HD remake, and it is odd they havent bothered doing it because it would make bank and they usually love rereleasing Skyrim and Fallout titles ad infinitum.

I've just finished Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, so I reckon I'll give New Vegas a go next, then.

I'll never have time to go through both, so, yeah.

Fighting Force proved twenty years ago you can't take that game full 3D, and sidescrolling in 3D tends to look clumsy. Leaving it as it was and just making it all smoother is the best option.

It looks really bad. It looks like it plays like Castle Crashers. I'll still play it though.

The only game that's done that sort of game well recently is Mother Russia Bleeds.

They did "modern it up". There is a retro mode with pixelated characters though. Maybe that's what you were looking at?

Wulverblade was alright. If I remember rightly, the moveset was a bit simple, though. And I didn't mind Double Dragon IV.

A disgruntled employee has leaked the entire cutscene archive to The Last of Us 2 and thus pretty much given away the story.

As such Sony has suddenly announced he release date of June 19th.
