Without wanting to get into grand extrapolations, is this symptomatic of modern all or nothing back yourself to be yourself sports mentality which completely falls apart when you'd, in the past, need to get your head down and tough things out? Yeah, 10-6 is just about recoverable, but Europe just needing 4 points will take a fairly epic bottle job for them to not get there.
