Turned it on to see Stokes immediately get himself out trying to be Super Stokes a bit too early.

Have to think you'll need the tail to get this as close to 400 as they can.

We need another 70 I reckon. They’ve only got nine wickets second go around remember.

It's a shame that bazball appears to have broken Joe Root, although I suppose you could make the case that he was already broken.

Root's greatest weakness, most obvious when he was captain, is that he is clearly just not an intelligent man. He is an amazingly consistent batsman when he just applies his tried and trusted method. However, if you give him creative licence he always fucks it up because he just doesn't understand anything.

    What did he do?

I see that he, just for a change, got LBW'd again (I'm just gonna assume he burned a review on it too) so what's he done to draw your scorn in particular?

When was the last time he got a run? He thinks he is untouchable (could well be if the broken leg rumours are legit) so since he’s come back into the team he’s got overweight and forgot how to bat.

England are fucking obsessed with always giving him one more chance.

And I see I was actually right that he blew a review on a clear LBW. The man's batting is a caricature.

I'd give Dan Lawrence a run in place of him for the next game. A mixed record in general but an unreal player of spin.

There might well be a chase to 50 on here lads, don't switch off.

That 4 from Bairstow could be vital.

They should change Jonny B for sure. Not sure how sticky he is in this setup.

BTW Jaiswal is the new best player in the world.

Enough about the Test series, it's getting closer to real cricket. Indoor nets on Sunday

I've put some money aside for a bat of my own - any recommendations? Got a decent local place nearby that some of the club guys know that is looking promising.

Go to the shop (in person) and say I need a bat, give them your maximum budget. The guy will give you some bats within that budget. Pick up the bats. You'll know when you're holding your bat.

Cheers chaps. Will pay them a visit this week.

Our league has been split regionally this year so we're going to have less league fixtures. Might be up in the 2nds a bit more so that should fill the time, otherwise we're going to have to organise some friendlies.

I'd be highly surprised if Ollivander wasn't inspired by a cricket shop, a violin shop, something of that nature.

Stokes out to a comedy pea roller on the first morning. We'll have to bazball our way to 200 and pretend it's a good score.

250+ would be a decent score I think

Bairstow going for 38 has guaranteed himself a spot for the rest of the year

Great plot twist to have Root and Foakes bat “properly” for a session.

On the face of it, seems like they’ve got the selection spot on but we’ll see how it plays out when India bat.

That's somehow ended up being a really good day for us. Only concern is Jaiswal and/or Rohit blitzing a run-a-ball double ton as per.

Ollie Robinson looked weirdly good there. Took most of the balls faced in that partnership as well.

Presume they’ll be told to come out and Baz Ball the fuck out of it in the morning for about 35 runs

He's pretty decent, not a proper all-rounder or anything but he never looks like he's scared of what's coming at him.

Nice time for Root to get a big score.

Jaiswal needs to stick to the batting. His leg breaks at the end there were absolute fodder.

    Jaiswal is something else.

If England get them out and are ahead by anything over 50 runs they should be fine. Pitch will only get worse for the batters and that’s when Baz ball comes out best.

They’ve been perfect for the past few hour. Incredible from both spin bowlers and captaincy.

177-7 to 307 all out is proper shambolic.

As is Ollie Pope aside from that massive score in the first series
