Stat of the year.46 min Off we go again! During the break, a mate messaged to tell me that Brennan Johnson is now the second player to score in both legs of a Championship playoff semi-final. The first was his dad, 19 years ago, in a tie involving same two teams. That’s a bazzer.
Huddersfield - Forest is proper baddies versus goodies territory. Only one winner from that please.
Who are the baddies?
These pitch invasions are very heads-have-gone. They always used to pass off without those involved having to go MENTAL or induce SCENES. Guess it's the coke talking.
Jaysus that's some clatter.
Because we spent 20 years of United winning everything in sight as well as lolling at us on the very few occasions when we did have a team that was even remotely close. Then whenever we did seem to have a decent team things would implode the following season 01/02, 08/09 and 13/14 were all followed by us being absolutely dogshit the following season.
Fam, don't compare this Klopp side to that other shit.
Konate looked like a beast but also one capable of dozing off a few months, if not weeks ago. It's taken the Nazi less than a season to turn him into peak VVD and fortify our position at the top of the game for the next 10 years. Frightening.
Just had a roll and sausage for lunch in solidarity with Rangers.
Have noticed a lot of their fans are wearing orange and was wondering is that straight sectarianism or a clever nod to Seville's eponymous fruit?
Definitely the fruit. It's the same reason Celtic fans wore green on their recent pre-season tour of Australia, as an homage to Granny Smith apples.
Apparently Rangers are wearing orange tonight.
Awful pity West Ham didn’t make it too. Could have wiped out countless tramps by just letting them loose on each other.
I'll need to be on team Frankfurt tonight.
1) Fuck all the Rangers fans around me who set off their shit fireworks every time they do anything.
2) Fuck the Old Firm generally.
3) Fuck the pipe bands who come and make an enormous fucking racket round the back of my flat every other week in the summer so I have to close all my windows and doors just so I can hear myself shriek.

When a set of absolute gimps. Somebody has had a weekend on the beer in Eastern Europe, taken in a local game and had his ideas indulged for too seriously by "the lads" upon his return.
I think Wayne has summed it up about as well as anyone could hope to:
Football fans are, mostly, complete morons. You could fire them all into the sun and even with the collateral damage you'd have a huge net gain to society.
Why do English fans and rangers fans hate chairs so much
I'd take one for the team.
I do wonder what atmosphere at games would be like without that element, though.
lol at the #WeStandWithIdrissa hashtag trending because he wouldn't wear a rainbow shirt and it's literally all arabic tweets.
And Africans.
Fair play to him. What a load of absolute shite. As if the PSG hierarchy give a flying fuck about anyone's rights.
Im sure Ozil was doing that too a few years ago.
And while I'm being a pissed off old man, what rights was this initiative meant to be standing up for? What can't LGBTQ+ people do in France? Play professional sport?
The BBC article also has this gem in it.
A business, whose primary source of revenue is derived from 11 very rich men playing football is committed to equality and diversity? Have a day off.Watford reiterated their commitment to equality and diversity

Remember when Spikey told Jimmy that homophobia doesn't exist in the UK and then you read those posts from Yev lol.
Did he? One can file that in the bullshit bin too if so.
No, that's definitely what I said Yev. And I definitely didn't list football as being one of the problem areas either.
"Being gay is basically entirely normalised in the real world. It shouldn't need an announcement."
I kind of want Rangers to win tonight. I'm still miffed we let James Tavernier go but he's made the most of it.
Indeed. All the initiative really seems to have served is to highlight that and the fact that there are billions of people on the planet whose societal, cultural and or religious beliefs mean they're not even comfortable with gay people yet, let alone the other letters of that ludicrous initialism.
That's a good thing. It's literally putting a spotlight on how fucked the situation is.
edit: Oh jesus now he's getting on the trans stuff.
"I can only comment on where I live, but saying something homophobic round here would go down about as well as dropping the N word. Transphobia is still alive and well, but homophobia - atleast in public - is a no go.
There will obviously be exceptions, but I think football fans and the over 60's is about it."
Time to move past the Spurs game Phonics lad, it's getting boring.
Well, I for one am shocked that Phonics either misunderstood or misrepresented someone's opinion.
What has the third world being generally homophobic got to do with this country's attitudes to it (except insofar as 'diverse' areas are the worst for it)? Football isn't changing that any time soon.
Yeah, kind of. I’m a white straight male so I can only speak of my experience in the HIV community where we interviewed someone about reaching out to community healthcare workers and the support they provide and I got a text asking to take it down because the poor kid was literally being chased out of his village in Kenya for being gay. And in that same vain, all you’ll rally against it studies show that the whole pronouns in your bio thing increases people who feel under attack the comfort level to reach out to those people because they don’t fear they’ll be attacked or mocked by those people who are ‘virtue signalling’.
It’s a fucking hard life. Any support you can show them is more than fucking deserved.
Thanks for the tip. I wasn’t going to bother first, but that seems easy enough.
The pride stuff will get a big backlash in the next however many years, which will have deleterious effects on some of the progress made. All our favourite corporate entities use it as a convenient outlet for PR lip service on a subject they don't give a fuck about, while homophobes/'conservative commentators' also use it as a convenient outlet for slagging off the shirtlifters, which they now find themselves unable to do directly. Said commentators think it's meaningless because it means nothing to them.
The lesson is: remember, kids, substance over style. Always.
My parents aren't seventy. Meanwhile in Africa 2022, they kill albinos for their magic bones. Their attitudes are irrelevant.
You've put this more eloquently than I did or could and I agree entirely. If I were in a minority I wouldn't want the owners of a club from a country where it's illegal to be in that minority anywhere near the fight. It's just utterly ludicrous.
EDIT: You might as well have Jimmy Saville as the poster boy in the fight against child abuse.
