It was jarring to see that included in the official wikipedia football glossary alongside 'back of the net', 'game of two halves' and so on.

Yea, I made my post at the same time so didn't see the one above, I was just joking about it, without realising it was really a FIFA thing.

My FIFA experience is basically 98-04 anyway, so for all I know that could be in the game these days.

Sex Education was the same, less so with terminology than with the fact they turned the school into an American high school with the full range of tropes, inexplicably located in Wales, with no American or Welsh people present.

I don't think Sex Education was really trying to maintain any pretence that it existed in the real world.

No, but the reason they created that dreamscape setting was to be 'accessible' to American viewers, which is the way everything from outside the US will go now that streaming is king.

I guess but have you seen it? They make a point of differentiating between American and “British” terms, ie out of bounds = into touch, trunk = boot, cleats = boots, etc. so I don’t understand why they insist on getting the English characters to use the word ‘tie.’

I watched The Puppet Master: Hunting the Ultimate Conman tonight and I thought it was pretty good. The story was compelling and told pretty well.

Some of the lies told seemed completely far fetched though and it was a little too long.

Sarah Smith's Dad came across as a don.

Catching up on Louis Theroux's new series. I can't believe there's a 'No Money Down' moment inside the first three minutes. And I can't take any of these right-wing wankers seriously.

EDIT: Okay, this is basically a carousel of internet retards. "I'm losing this argument? Well, erm ... YOU'RE PRETENTIOUS!"

It was all a bit bizarre.

The real scoop he needed was to get the sort of off the record comment where 'Nick Fuentes' and that gamer girl the retard said he was going to rape confess it's all just a money grab and they're just fleecing idiots without believing any of it.

Yeah, some of the internet reaction has been moaning about how Louis didn't dig into the grift. Or his hispanic parents. Or his sexuality. Still, we got Baked Alaska showing Louis his shite song. And Beardson trying to throw him out of a house he wasn't in.

It's also interesting to note Alaska was really, really uncomfortable with the chat messages coming through. He's in prison at the minute.

Come to think of it, most of our generation probably watched the original only because it 'just happened to be on TV' after school. And I'd hazard a guess most of us enjoyed it.
But in this day and age, how do you hook an audience to a new show about:

The theme song and opening sequence set the premise of the show. Will Smith is a street-smart teenager, West Philadelphia - "born and raised". While playing street basketball, Will misses a shot and the ball hits a group of gang members, causing a confrontation that frightens his mother, who sends him to live with his wealthy aunt and uncle in the opulent neighborhood of Bel Air, Los Angeles.
Will's working class background ends up clashing in various humorous ways with the upper class world of the Banks family – Will's uncle Phil and aunt Vivian and their children, Will's cousins: spoiled Hilary, pompous Carlton, impressionable Ashley and baby Nicky
It would never get the same kind of audience now.

You'd never get that premise past modern day LA types, or at least Uncle Phil would have to be white and a cunt.

I’m just about the start The Fear Index.

Flash crashes are always controversial so I hope they portray it properly rather than dramatising characters like they’re prone to do.

Enjoy. A show in which a 20 minute detailed depiction of seal clubbing isn't even in the top three most graphic sequences.

My mum has been watching this French show called 'Call My Agent' which is like Extras but less comedic with French stars and I'm watching the whole time thinking I recognise this one woman and I couldn't place it and it was from the first movie I ever saw in French. She didn't have a single line but I still think about it all the time.

Started watching Reacher on Amazon. They've made him an absolute unit like he's meant to be, rather than a manlet like Tom Cruise. Enjoyed it a lot so far from the first couple of episodes.

Finally got around to starting Succession today and squeezed in the first episode before the Leeds-Man Utd match kicked off. It's right up my street and I think I'm going to really enjoy it. Wolves-Leicester might get fucked off.

Anyone watching love is blind series 2?

It’s the absolute worst, filled with some truly horrible people. But it’s class.

The bird shaina has absolutely massive tits but I’m not convinced they don’t drop down to her hips if unsupported. Hopefully we will get a bikini shot at some point.

I am by osmosis (wife watching it), they need more rules in the opening phase. After the more genuine seeming first series now it seems like people are desperate to get through to boost their profile so will do and say anything. It should be a case of you get one proposal and then you can't propose again, only be proposed to.

Edit: also, Shaina's tits are definitely fake and should be perky, that's why she looks 15 years older than she is: all the surgery.

Yeah, being able to propose more than once seems a bit wild. Having someone say yes to that, that your fiancé proposed to someone the day before, screams of red flag.

Series 1 was great, all be it, there’s similar themes and I imagine that will always be the case.

I watched Catching Killers and The Confession Killer over the last few days.

Catching Killers was fairly good but the first season was so much better than the first. The second season in particular was let down by the episode "Thrill Kills: The Phoenix Serial Shooter" which was pretty dull.

The Confession Killer was really good. The most striking thing was just how shit the Texas Rangers were because it was clear that Henry Lee Lucas hadn't done any of the murders he was confessing to. I also found this so clearly they were completely inept and were more interested in just closing cases rather than solving them.

I’d assumed BBC and ITV would have some kind of agreement where they don’t have their marquee dramas head-to-head. Series finale of Trigger Point opposite series premiere of Peaky Blinders is a strange one. ITV will bleed viewers tonight.

Did Trigger Point get any better? I think I missed it after the third episode and never went back. It was a bit shit, I thought.
