I don't really get why they had all those 5 foot nothing 60kg wastes of time as main contestants when they had a beast like Wesley as a stand-by.

I'd understand if the little lads had super entertaining personalities, but they didn't at all.

I don't think they'd have let a contestant have a break if injured back in the day.

    Just get up.

Can't remember the specifics but I'm sure I remember a few replacements, etc. They'll be more on it these days obviously but I don't think they were just shouting MAN UP while Trojan dislocated their arms or whatever.

They need to make it narrower for a start, it's too easy if you attack the sides. Nia is the only one who has just run up the middle right at the gladiators.

Should also allow the gladiators to get a bit more physical and hold.

It also used to have 5 Gladiators and was narrower I think.

Looking at this old clip of 'Lawrence-Jean' besting them in 1995, it looks as though the gladiators had a lot more freedom about what zones they went into and when, and there were also five of them. Could be wrong. Hard to judge if it's narrower or not. And 20 seconds, isn't it 30 seconds now?

Come for the historical event comparison, stay for the surprisingly lounge lizard timekeeper.

The moves he made in that run were incredible, especially how he pretty much flipped over the first gladiator.

I'm all for Chung, and maybe I'm taking this too seriously, but you shouldn't be able to win an event that you face different gladiators on 18-0.

She was as cynical as possible in every event which strikes me as a weird way to approach a TV gameshow. Got her comeuppance in Hang Tough.

I reckon they're mostly below average height. Probably selected that way to make the Glads look extra enormous.

Or the amateur swole gym rats aren't deemed suitable for whatever other reasons.

Definitely manlets to make the gladiators proportionally monstrous. The same way in porn they aim to cast women 5ft or under to make the geezers look like John Holmes.

I know plenty of former second row/prop forward types turned fitness fanatics around the 6'4" mark so find the lack of any in the contestant pool suspicious.

I suppose it wouldn't look good if some rough and tumble man mountain just bulldozed them all on the strength tasks.
