The Swedish government plans to cut social benefits for non-European immigrants in the hope of discouraging migrants from coming to Sweden.
Sweden’s coalition government is set to introduce reforms requiring immigrants from countries outside the European Union to learn Swedish and compete for jobs in the country's highly-skilled labor market.
While the details of the changes are still being worked out, the leaders of the three-party coalition and the far-right Sweden Democrats (SD) have claimed that Sweden has "significant problems" with foreign-born people who are unemployed and live on benefits.
In an opinion piece in the newspaper Dagens Nyheter on Friday (October 20), they said that over the last decade, more than 770,000 people have immigrated to Sweden from countries outside the EU and European Economic Area (EEA).
"Together with an integration policy that has made almost no demands (on immigrants) and provided no incentive to integrate into society, immigration has created a divided Sweden," they continued.
In the opinion piece in Dagens Nyheter they refered to "segregation, social exclusion, unemployment, poor school results and a lack of common Swedish values." The piece did not include official data to support its claims, nor provide information on the number of Swedish citizens who live on benefits, Agence France Presse (AFP) reports.
I've milked the gammon fields for an education and a solid growing pension but it may be time to consider one of those shithole Saudi city projects, especially if I can market myself as a gammon to increase my perceived value.
We went through the actual stats of what was happening in Sweden a while back, focusing on crime and they were absolutely horrific.

I'm generally pretty chilled when it comes to Immigration (little boats or otherwise) but even I have to wonder how the fuck Immigration on this scale can possibly be allowed.
It's funny how the mindset is: immigration = Muslims = boats, but it's right there in the data that the massive jump was caused by non-EU people mainly from Ukraine and Hong Kong.
But we'll ignore that and wonder why nothing changes even when we've voted in our own Geert Wilders.
I'm not arsed if they're from Ukraine, Uganda or Ulrika Jonsson's birth canal. A 1% increase in population, from immigration, inside a year is unfathomable.
I wasn't having a dig at you, but rather the inevitable national response which will whip up a load of anger whilst doing fuck all about the situation. Although it could be argued the Ukraine/Hong Kong thing is very much a one-off so won't happen year-on-year even if nothing is done.
It was actually - amongst others - 253000 Indians, 141000 Nigerians, 89000 Chinese, 55000 Pakistanis, and a massive 35000 Ukrainians. More immigration in the last twelve months than 1945-2000. And apparently wages have stagnated? Weird.
Unsurprisingly, it's the exact same story in Holland.
Couldn't you attribute a lot of the suspect/suspicion there to them being racists hence why they've just voted in a bunch of racists?

We're due a cultural swingback in the west after 30 years of prioritising minorities and this is probably the start of it. Doesn't make me feel wonderful about things but it's completely inevitable.

There's been a massive immigration problem for a long time, just like over there which led to Brexit, and something like this was always going to set things off. There's been ongoing growing protests for years though.

I went off the same thing. I was talking about increases rather than raw numbers. 35,000 Ukrainians is obviously a huge increase on the year before. 50,000 Pakistanis is standard.
