I wondered where Jack Nicholls had went from the BBC coverage. Turns out he's a bit gropey.

Is there actually a chance of qualifying being washed out?
Damp with possible rain throughout the session. Bring the chaos and not the red flags.
They really need to stop throwing a red flag for every little thing.
It'd be amazing if it chucked it down hard now.
This has been great.
Charles is going to end up punting someone in the garage. Checo continues to be fucking useless and you get what you get from Strulovitch.
I'd happily do away with all penalties for impeding just to get rid of the endless chatter of who was in the way of who.
Verstappen is just so far clear
This looks like a Hulkenberg front row.
Checo surely is losing his seat.
I’m sure Red Bull and Horner are devestated that they’re leading by a country mile and Verstappen looks ten times better than the only guy that can compete with him who no matter the result will be a massive advertising draw in Latin America.
Hulk must have got his lap in about a tenth of a second before the red flag was thrown. Insanity no team gambled harder on the first run in Q3. They should all have been at the end of the pitlane with 4/5 mins to go to ensure Verstappen wasn't first out. With the RB so far ahead, a collective bit of gamesmanship was everyone's best hope there.
Perez may not be there to win races [obviously] but he probably needs to start being a little less shite.
As soon as the rain came down the order quickly settled on Verstappen/Alonso/Hamilton, which shows you where the class of the field is. Blinding effort by Hulk to crash the party.
They have no-one within their system who would do a better job and even Red Bull have learned that they get nothing out of throwing their young drivers straight into the wood chipper that is that second seat. Perez, terrible though he is, will simply put up with whatever treatment he gets because what's he going to do about it, leave?
No I think Perez was just a happy circumstance. They had nobody they really wanted to put in that seat and the good PR move was to save Checos career and give him the seat.
Yuki is doing well but is quite hot headed, which you dont really want up against another hot head. I think if anything, we see De Vries booted and Lawson installed there first. Perez will survive the season.
Also as noted by the Gasly experience, Max likes his car setup in a completely different way to how your typical driver would want it. Therefore the car will then be built towards that which means when it goes wrong it’ll go badly wrong.
Hulkenberg summoned for going too fast under the red flag.
Don't you dare give him a grid drop.
Can’t believe Sainz only got a 3 place grid penalty. Twice he tried his best to fuck someone over
As shit as Perez might have been lately, he is still second in the standings. What else do you need?
He does have the best car by a mile
Let's say they get a better driver. What would they get out of him? Can't do better than second.
Sainz and his red car, on multiple occasions just chilling in the chicane like he just woke from a siesta.
Hulk with a three place penalty confirmed.
Sainz and Hulk getting equal penalties is ridiculous.
Ferrari never get bad penalties, we should all have learned this by now.
Being Ferrari is penalty enough.
Sainz in the last corner when he had cars scorching past him left and right was hilarious.
I'd have that as bad enough to warrant a race ban. Not sure if I'm miles out but surely it's a serious safety issue in that part of the circuit especially.
He did it a load in FP3 too. And there were several instances in qualifying too.
Another race whether someone, anyone, needs to pip Verstappen off the line for the sake of there being a race.
Just watched quali highlights.. Sainz deserves a race ban for his antics. Twice slow on the chicane... What a div.
Haas screwed out of a front row start again.
Its the ferrari and their radio comms.
Hamilton pissed all over Alonso at the start.
Russell twatting it into walls again, what a pillock.
Very unsafe release on Hamilton as well. Great job Merc.
The Tory boy is fucked.
Alonso sawing away at the wheel the little drama queen.
More like gesturing to the ref for a yellow card.
Ferrari are a fucking mess.
'Switch strategy, Carlos.'
'No mate.'
'Alright, whatever you say.'
Good man. If it's a mistake, that's on him.
Switching over to the golf now for a more high-octane viewing experience.
They set a good base with the regulation changes last year but the tweaks this time around have completely killed it. Absolutely no action top to bottom.
I enjoyed today's race but that's mainly because of Alex Albon pulling off an incredible defensive drive. P7
It seems mad to me that Verstappen has won 40% of Red Bull's 100 race wins as a constructor. I guess it's testament to the bloated schedule as much as anything. Vettel got 38 for them in his era of total dominance.
From memory I think two of Seb's four were reasonably close, and even in the truly dominant seasons you'd have the odd place that suited other cars. This year the RBR/Max combo is utterly supreme regardless of conditions or venue. He cruises through all these managing his tyres.
Yeah 2010 was the one with a potential 4 possible champions on the final race weekend. That one should have been Alonso with his 3rd title, but he just couldn't get by Petrov.
Then you had Seb dominance for a year, then another year where Fernando should have won the title and then his 4th was dominance again. Back then you always had Lewis sneaking in a win and maybe the odd bit of unreliability causing another, but not now.

Like father like son.
So many laps being deleted here. Someone is going to go from in to out after the session finishes.
Always feels like one of the worst tracks on the calendar so not sure if this track limits stuff makes much difference. It doesn't look like a track that can actually take these cars.
