Tielemans and Jesus would be a proper window for them. Probably end up with Lingard and Weghorst.

    Bit bold.
Was not expecting us to sign Jay Spearing first.

It is a worryingly competent approach so I can't wait to see how it blows up in our face.

I still have no idea why Mané wants to leave the best team he will ever play for.

I think him and Salah genuinely don't like each other and he's sick of it and can't be bothered to compete for a contract when they'll inevitably end up giving Salah more money.

P.S. Arsenal were called one of the worst run clubs in football when we had all these players running down their contract. What gives?

He's been on a fairly lightweight salary and out of contract next year. Can't blame him for wanting a payrise but I doubt one was forthcoming.

Just looked it up, Salah and Mane combined earn £40k per week less than Raphael Varane.

Oh, if Liverpool are still being run by the ghost of Billy Beane, rather than wanting to keep their best team for 40 years together, then it's understandable on his part.

I'm not even sure Salah is getting renewed.

I don't know what their constraints are but I can't really fault them for not wanting to give a pair of thirty year olds four year deals on £300k or whatever. Nunez is basically going on Mane's current wage package I think.

Maybe. Depends if they want to try and scalp a few more trophies while they can, or accept beta status in the City-Newcastle era.

If he's not banged up inside 6 months that's signing of the season right there. Spurs are going to be even more horrific to play next year.

Be interesting to see how they manage to Spurs up a good side and a good manager.

I honestly don’t think they will.

Perisic and Bissouma coming in. Son, Kane and Kulusevski all staying. Conte having actual tactics and more passion than the last five United managers combined. I can genuinely see Spurs challenging Liverpool for 2nd next season. Maybe they’ll finally get Lautaro Martinez too.

Was this before or after the Ozil/Aubemeyang contract renewals?

Not really got any alternative option. They don't have the gift of being able to lol off £100m transfers, or mega money contracts, going belly up. An odd move for Mané though, it's not like he's quadrupling his money or whatever Wijnaldum did at PSG [his Liverpool contract was absolutely crimous]. Maybe he just always wanted to play under, checks notes, Julian Nagelsmann. Or has a thing for Lederhosen?

I guess it's only down the road from Salzburg where he was before, and he still has a reasonable pop at the Champions League. The pork knuckle is right up there, too.

Spurs problem remains that they can't break down teams that sit back. That's where they lose things. You'd back them to have a chance against any big side, it's how they reached the Champions League Final, but if they fail to score in the first half against the likes of Burnley, then they're odds on to lose.

That's what they need to sort out, and I don't know how. It's not as simple as signing a playmaker, because Eriksen didn't solve it either.

We've signed Bazunu as presumably our number one, heard lots of good things about him but worried about a lack of experience at the back.

Our next target has to be an experienced Premier league centre back to play alongside Salisu. Someone like Ben Mee or Craig Dawson would be perfect.

Then we just have the easy task of finding a goalscorer.

I relaly hope it works out for him, and he's always been excellent for us, but he's very young and has only played here or in League 2. Big risk if he's not 2nd choice.

McCarthy is awful and we've just let Forster leave. It would be strange if he isn't first choice.

Just think he will need an experienced head in front of him to help guide him through.

Only if James Ward-Prowse is part of the deal. Also we have signed Nayef Aguerd for around £25m, will be confirmed tomorrow.

Chelsea signing Sterling just screams of them not learning from their mistakes. £35m is cheaper than I thought it would be is the only positive you could take out of it.

Linked with Nathan Aké too him, Silva, Kounde would be the shortest defence in the world

Sounds like the guy they've got into to cover for Trent at Liverpool will be well suited to the role:

Defending crosses to the back post is a vulnerability

He got a £200k a week contract and therefore didn't need to bother anymore?

Sterling's an interesting one. I reckon City might miss him and Jesus more than they perhaps realise if their directness/pace is going to be largely replaced with the high level fannying about of Foden and Grealish. Lots of onus of Haaland to provide actual threat.

Might not be their choice, is he another one in the 2023 contract expiry boat? His agent is also a massive twat so there could be that factor.

He’s a London boy isn’t he? He’ll probably go to Chelsea for 50-60m and I’m not sure he’ll be all that good for them in a Tuchel system.

Nathan Ake would be a genuinely horrendous signing though. They badly need a proper Director of Football.

We've been linked to Ake as well so I think they're just throwing club names to the wall. Other names mentioned for us:

    Adama Traore
    Paolo Dybala
    Moussa Diaby
    Bernd Leno
    Gareth Bale
    James Ward-Prowse
    Maxwell Cornet
    Yan Sommer
    Christian Eriksen

It's all just noise until someone winds up signing.

Matt Law is reporting Tuchel has always had an interest in him. Probably the most reliable journalist for them. It could just be that though, a long term internet. Of all academy players to buy back, he would be near the end of the list.
