I've watched all 3 series of Happy Valley this week, and it is very good indeed, however:

Continuing on with Clarkson's Farm, the planning permission side of it is absolutely incredible.

I’ve got 4 done but stopped for Tommy Tiernan. Hopefully finish it tomorrow depending on how many there are.

Episode 4 was breathtakingly dull and although 5 was an improvement thanks to something actually happening, it's increasingly becoming a drag.

In one ear I’ve got Mike telling me I should watch it cos it’s up there with Better Call Saul, and in the other is Taz saying how boring it is.

In reality I’ve still not found time to finish The Young Ones or Early Doors.

The Last of Us is good. I feel it has the tone and atmosphere nailed. Pedro Pascal likeable in almost everything he does and the girl playing Ellie seems to be a good fit for it.
The few guest appearances we've had have been good too.

Not quite sure how they slow the pace back down after what happened in Ep. 5, but we'll see.

Clarksons Farm was good, but it always seems like the type of show you'd love to see a behind the scenes documentary on.

@Baz Did you watch Taskmaster New Zealand on Youtube or elsewhere? Having caught up on the UK ones thought I'd give NZ a go. Had watched 7/10 of series 1 and then they got yanked from Youtube.

They were on YT when I watched them yeah. Worth persevering and finding season 2 for sure.

I can download them and put them on my Plex if you want?

If you know what that means, send me your email and I'll grab them and invite you to view my TV library. I'll add you to the wrestling library too, but leave you out of the films - some dodgy ones in there.

What are we all on with? I've dropped Dark as S3 is completely mental. TLOU is a snore fest. In need of inspiration.

Yeah can do, it's really annoying to have had it disappear so near the end. Think 2's all still on there as well but on a different channel.

I enjoyed 'Full Swing' a lot on Netflix, albeit I'm already a golf nut, so will be interesting to see if non golf fans end up enjoying it. A nice mix of players who come across incredibly well and players who come across as knobheads.

Even by the low standards it’s already set, the new episode of Picard was horrendous. Worst episode of Trek I’ve witnessed.

I tried watching that golf thing but just found it very badly done compared to the polished presentation of something like DTS. Just too all over the place.

Yeah, it’s going full “get the gang back together”, which sounds fun in a way but it was just very badly done. A bit like it was an edit cobbled together last minute. It’s on Amazon and Paramount.

Pokerface. Adrien Brody got me involved and it was interesting enough to begin with but, and this surprised me because it's only been the case on 99% of every other show in existence these days, it turned into dull shite.

I'm only 3 episodes in but the LIV lot.

    Poulter especially.

Him complaining about financial hardships after losing to Fitzpatrick in the matchplay event and then hopping onto a private jet to the UK was a nice moment.

My biggest gripe so far is that they explain what the cut is in golf tournaments in EVERY. SINGLE. FUCKING. EPISODE.

Non-fans don’t know what a cut is and that’s the target audience.

It’s the same geezers as Drive to Survive and that brought in a load of new fans, for better or for worse.

It's not the hardest concept though, I think even idiots would pick up on what a cut is after the first episode.

I thought it was alright actually. Not sure how long they can keep going until Jean Luc dies but at least it was a bit more like the older stuff. The shadowy underworld/subterfuge is a little samey though.

This is the last series, it was shot at the same time as the last one apparently.
I’d probably like it more if it just didn’t come across as so badly edited. I do like the new cuntish captain after seeing the second one today.

    @Baz

I watched Early Doors recently. After the first couple of episodes I was going to pack it in, but I felt compelled to continue, and glad I did now. It's a weird mixture of nostalgia and human interest that sort of sucks you in.

Trust the fucking mess to love it through his greasy screen and crusty gamer chair. I just watched episode 7 and what began as an easy to watch by-the-numbers zombie affair has turned into dull af trash to the point of it being hard to finish. But we'll still get the top reviews because a 14 year old and a 16 year old broke taboos and had a lesbian kiss so the world is now automatically a much better place and we all need to consume this so that we too can encourage our young to take up scissoring. May Allah wash this Earth with powerful floods and tsunamis when he's rid it of us vermin.

You have to endure some shite every now and the to keep in touch with the common man and let me tell you, this sort of foul shite consumed by the masses is very much the zeitgeist of today.

When people at work start discussing Happy Valley, I don’t mind glazing over and instead think how tasty the pear I’m eating is.

My problem with the Last of us is that there was a worry it'd be meandering like the Walking Dead but instead it's too much the other way where apart from the Bill episode it's stuck so closely to the source material a lot of it is live action remakes of cutscenes from the games. It's good that they're not planning to have it run forever but it puts me off what promises to be an overly grim s2.
