There's nothing woke about half the street being wrapped up some kind of murder plot. Everyone else is a Mitchell or a Slater. And alcoholic. There was even a moment where some builders were all, "Phwoar!" at one of the murdering women.
The ethnic and gay make-up of Eastenders isn't particularly eye-catching since it's set in London, and Emmerdale has more non-white people in it than have ever set foot in the Yorkshire Dales, but the recent attempts at tackling racism look like they've come from some Tumblr session on what bad racism is. Eastenders and Coronation Street had smooth-talking anti-Muslim terrorists come out of nowhere and attempt to blow up their respective ethnic food outlets, and the gay black lad in Emmerdale seems to run into prejudiced authority figures every other week before giving them a piece of the writers' mind.

Why is this VAR taking so long? The very first replay clearly shows the striker holding the defender and stopping him from running out. Disallow it and get on with it.
That VAR check was an absolute joke, even much more than normal. Four minutes to decide what the average viewer saw in four seconds. Its completely jumped the shark now.

Offside. It looked very close on the offside, but clear as day for the foul.
It would have been even more farcical if Bailey was onside. They would have then wasted another four minutes while they sent the ref to the monitor to check the foul.
