Both the three team group and the four team group with best third places qualifying are shit. They should fast forward the schedule and expand it to 64, I'm sure they've already got it pencilled in for the late 2030s.
64 makes more sense, but the ECA people would seethe themselves into not releasing the players or something. They seethed at 48 team expansion without even realising that the number of games per player would be less on average.
