Trying to see Gangsta Gibbs next week
Ive just been put on to Kaytranada. The whiole album called 99.9% is good. Different sound, to what im used too. My ipod is still full of 90s and early 00s rap and r&b. I dont know much at all in todays music.
It's okay, I didn't like it as much as a few of my friends I have to admit.
When I do go for that Dancey stuff I prefer the slightly weirder stuff
I can still do the hook. Certified banger.
Yep, Gucci Gucci is certified.
Gibbs is in Stockholm this week, but I got zero money and the person I was going to go with bailed on me. Meh.
I wasn't feeling it at first but every other listen makes you realise it's fucking ridiculous the guys never had an album.
I was lost in the jungle like Simba after the death of Mufasa
No hog, no meerkat, hakuna matata by day
But I spent my night time fighting tears back
I prayed and prayed and left messages but never got no hear back, or so it seemed
A mustard seed was all I needed to sow a dream
I build the ark to gently, gently, row my boat down Noah's stream
Sometimes the path I took to reach my petty goals was so extreme
I was so far down in the mud couldn't even let my light shine
But you was always there when I needed to phone a friend or use a life line
Gone back to Pinata after listening to the Gibbs interview on RapRadar
It's such a solid album.
I was fucked up being driven home at 3:00AM last weekend and someone in the car was playing this, it was seriously blowing my mind. I hope it holds up while sober.
Kaytranada and Anderson.Paak are both coming to the festival series in Salt Lake but I'll be in Europe. :\

Cruel Winter confirmed.
Posse cut as the first single: https://soundcloud.com/nightsinoctob...ons-good-music
Who has the best verse?

G Eazy is the fucking man.
Do you know who really isn't the fucking man? ILoveMakonnen. His freestyle for Tim Westwood is atrocious. I'm not even sure if you can even class it as rapping.

So Gibbs has been arrested for rape ......
Trying to make a new hip hop playlist on Spotify. Probably 80% of it is Chance.
New Logic:
It's all a bit Kanye, except he can still rap.
Dickhead still cancels dates with about 10 seconds notice though.

Too High to Riot is such a good album
Joe Budden made a Drake diss track and nobody's mentioned it?
RIP TTH.

The first drake diss by budden was weak. But this second one is good.
Some other new sounds ive recently been put onto that i like
What do people think of Blank Face LP? I'm liking it quite a bit after a few spins. Could have trimmed the fat off it in a few places but on the whole it seems a pretty good record.
YG's new one of quite good as well. Although not as good as his debut, it's missing the DJ Mustard beats. I guess they fell out or something.
I havent really checked for kanye since graduation but i like the sound of this.

That bar about corny b-bombs. The way he is regulating his women. His pimp hand is strong in this video.
To revisit our "female emcees" conversation a bit further up this page, I'm really liking Noname's (formerly Noname Gypsy, featured with Chance a couple of times) new project. It's called Telefone, and it's pretty cool. You can download it off her Soundcloud page. It's nice and short, just over half an hour, but she covers a lot of ground on it. Well worth worth listening to, I would say.

Things I like right now:
Kembe X - Talk Back
Denmark Vessey - Whole Food
Kemba - Negus

Going on holiday. Downloaded some songs to listen to while sunbathing. It's mostly new songs, with a few duds thrown in for good measure. Alright to stick on shuffle if you fancy it though. All tagged and stuff.

Good stuff coming up in Isaiah Rashad, Danny Brown, Ka.
I couldn't give less of a shit about his music but Young Thug renaming himself 'No My Name Is Jeffrey' is enough for me to start listening.
Seriously guys get on Kembe X.
It's really depressing
Both Isaiah and Danny dropping soon. This new Isaiah-tune goes.

Anyone like Pusha T? Saw him last night, along with a cool group called Digable Planets who sound like A Tribe Called Quest.
Digable Planets are fuckin dope. Didn't know they still tour
We only caught the second half of them, if I'd known about them before I'd have shown up earlier.
I also only got on the Coloring Book late. I'm not a fan of Chance at all but hearing some of the singles I decided to give it a listen. It's really really good.
Kent Jones' verse on Don't Ever Play Yourself is not only the standout feature on DJ Khaled's new album, it's the greatest verse of 2016. Seek it out and listen to it if you haven't already. So so good. Hard to believe it's the dude behind that radio hit, Don't Mind. He's a badass.

The new De La Soul album has been in heavy rotation since it came out, it's great. So good to have them back. This little documentary they put out about the making of it is also very good and well worth a watch.
Highlight of life when Damon Albarn brought out De La Soul at Bonnaroo a few years back
No love for Blond? It's kinda awesome. I really wish the beat in last 20 seconds of Nikes was a full track.
For fans of Chance the Rapper:
I like Young Thug. He can be a bit hit and miss, but when he gets it right he's really entertaining. Barter 6 was great. I'll definitely check the new one out at some point.
I'm liking Isaiah Rashad's new album at the minute. Nice vibes for this last little bit of the summer that's hanging on. I think he's built on Cilvia Demo pretty nicely. It's just a little bit unfocussed in places, and maybe a little bit too long. He comes off as trying to sound like Kendrick too much at times as well. But on the whole it's a really good project.
Really enjoying Isaiahs effort as well.
