Placing Joel on a pedestal is the weirdest part for me. He's got to be on a Mount Rushmore of misinterpreted protagonists. Right next to the bloke from Falling Down and the recent Joker.

Oh I know the media thrive on it, but I thought the chief issues people had (whether valid or not - I don't care) with The Last of Us were all "Girl boss" and making the lead male character useless related.
I never got on with the games (knee high wall shooting simulators that they were) so had no skin in this particular argument.
Thankfully I've seen the episode already.
Really cool of you just to be posting spoilers...
Fuck it. The game's been out for years.![]()
Yeah, might as well just spoil the rest of the TV show then right?
I always took the meaning of the 2nd game to be the consequences of your actions.

Shinners has the complaints right there though.
Joel was viewed by a weirdly large amount of people at the time as being portrayed as some kind of hero for saving Ellie in the first game. So to have him teed off out of existence and BY A GIRL no less, caused an outpouring of SEETHE.
Ellie being gay was also strongly hinted at in the first game, though through DLC mostly. The DLC was essentially the mall episode from S1.
The people that hated Abby from the start because she immediately offed their hero, then got sent into overdrive when the game then makes you play as her, giving you her back story. This also provides all of the justification for everything she does to Ellie/Joel. I imagine we get the same again with the TV series doing Abby based flashbacks.
I believe a temporary ban for Shindig is in order.
I think you can guess my attitude to spoilers here.I'm not precious about them.
Spoilers aren't real, don't be such fannies.
In the game and so possibly still to come in the series there was alsoToggle Spoiler
I’ve started on Top Boy [Summerhouse]. Only one episode in but it seems very good. Didn’t know what it was about, but it’s quite related to my job, weirdly.
If anything happens to that dog, I’m kicking off.
I'm a twit
Watching that Louis Theroux Settler thing got me genuinely angry. What an awful bunch of people.
I know one person on the new Taskmaster, the Brooklyn 99 psycho. The Fatima lass and bloke who looks homeless seem funny, but the 2 on the end are boring as hell.
Fatima seems very one note. Assuming she didn't participate in the prize task because she didn't want to look silly, just goes against everything the show stands for.
That third episode of last of us was toilet. Filler and unnecessary.
Finished Season 3 of White Lotus over the weekend. Probably better than season 2 but still mediocre and the end was wank.
I'm only half way through, but Suspect: The Shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes, on Disney+ is very good and worth a watch.
I was expecting a WOKE nightmare on how the Met are a racist murder squad, but they've been pretty even handed with what an absolute fucking nightmare the whole thing was so far.

Cheers Spikey, I'll get on that.
The Eternaut is good if you like post-aoocalyptic sci-fi which I very much do.
The Rehearsal S2 is unhinged, and the best TV this year.
Linda Blair fucked herself with a crucifix, so yes.
Was the de Menezes one the one where the MET Commissioner just went off piste in a press conference and the officer with knowledge of / responsibility for the investigation was just there with his head in his hands [possibly metaphorically] behind him?
I don't say this lightly, but Ian Blair is a genuinely awful man.
Andor is some of the best TV I've seen, let alone best Star Wars TV. Only shows up how badly Disney have fucked up most of the series at this stage with dross like Kenobi and Ashoka.
