I was on a plane years ago and someone sat next to me had an iPhone case that was made of material (probably covering something sturdier), but it was built in such a way that he could fold the sections of the case up on the back of the phone so it made a rudimentary stand.

Try as I might I can't find anything like it for sale now, which is probably a Google fail on my part but any searches for iphone case stand give results with some sort of fold out metal tripod thing which is not what I'm after.

Any ideas?

Ah yeah, foldable viewing stand case is your search term. They don't look exactly the same but seem to do a similar thing even if they generally look a bit naff.

Be careful too that your case isn't too thick that it prevents MagSafe from working, assuming you wish to charge that way.

Apples name for wireless charging. If the case is too thick, it wont charge on the pad while the case is on.

Most Apple friendly cases have a magsafe passthrough on them. They look like a circle on the back of the case with a line underneath.

I have one of these which does that: https://www.ipitaka.com it's great for watching stuff on planes and having the little handle thing on the back means it's easier to wield a giant phone. Plus you can just pop it off and charge it with the case still on.

I've got the main 9, delighted with it. It's probably the best phone I've had in every regard bar camera which is still great, but the Huawei P30 Pro was ooh la la.

After using it for a while now, the ad notifications are really driving me mad. "Did you try Gemini", "Trending now in the Play Store". Fuck off.
It's also not really dual sim despite being advertised as such, though that one is probably down to Vodafone.

Add me into that. The amount of people at work that say "oh I will just ask ChatGPT" rather than using their fucking brain for ten seconds is mental. Brain rot everywhere, and it hasn't even embedded itself yet.

We have subscriptions to Cursor in work (which is basically VS Code with ChatGPT built in or similar to GitHub Copilot). It's alright for fairly simple things and saves a bit of typing for repetitive things but I wouldn't trust it with anything complex.

Oh, I sometimes use Perplexity instead of just googling too. Perplexity because it will list its sources so I can go check them. It's normally quicker than having to go through Google's results and read the documentation of whatever I'm looking for to find the precise answer to my question. Probably as much a reflection of Google search's enshittification if anything though.

Probably landed as an app with your last OS update, if you uninstall the app it should prevent push notifications.
