Throw in Jesus and you have a deal.
(The Brazilian lad, not the Christianic messiah).
Could have gone down a legend, will go down as a Michael Owen. Shame.
Staying at one club your whole career is massively overrated. Don't blame him one bit for wanting to go overseas and play football in the sun, albeit at the most paranoid, childish club in the world.
I'm under no illusion that they're the biggest club on the planet and that living in/around Madrid will be much superior to living in Formby/Cheshire.
Still, not a single minute more on the pitch please.
Yeah, ousting a fully fit Carvajal is going to be very difficult.
It's nothing to do with the weather, and everything to do with thinking he has a better shot at the balloon of gold there. These guys live in splendid super-rich isolation with personal chefs etc no matter where they are playing, I doubt lifestyle makes a difference in the way it did 20 years ago.
Aye, British players seem to settle abroad much better than they used to.
Getting butthurt about someone wanting to leave surely can’t be the focus when you’ve just walked a league. What an odd set of supporters.
I think we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.
I don't think Leeds is quite built with bus parades in mind.
EDIT: The PA's pleading with the fans to get out of the way of the buses.

I was tempted to go down and soak up the atmosphere, but it has only been two years.
That's a great point. I'll give the lads a call to give it a go. Might change his mind yet.
Obviously not a bigger legend than Gerrard (him wanting to leave or not) but comparing to Owen seems a little extreme, no?
He's won the lot and is signing off with a second title in 30+ years. He is, as you said, moving up. Not like he is pissing off to City on a free (Unless.....).
I completely understand and agree with your second line there. Purely based on a football decision he likely is making the best move for him.
However this is the same lad who has spent the last few years saying how all he ever wants is to be Liverpool captain and that it means more to him to win the 1 with us that say, 4 at City. To the point where City even mocked him for it with their "This means four" post. This is what irks me about the whole thing.
Time to be honest with the fans or whatever it is is a bit lol. Maybe he has been honest behind the scenes though. Think the way the season panned out probably hasn't helped in terms of any sort of January compromise which was maybe where it should have been heading if he was never going to sign a contract.
Hard to wish him well as Madrid are such a detestable club, but to the extent possible I hope he does well enough there. Not really the same as when McManaman went as they were coming off a long period of irrelevance and Liverpool were shit.
Shinners boys in the mud.
A spectacular parade of northern shitholes for you to wind your way past for promotion.
Someone told me today that McManaman was the highest paid player (£65k) in La Liga when he went to Madrid, on over double what Figo (£25k) was getting. Surely not?
I'm a twit
Maybe? The hot rumour going round here in 2000 was that Alen Boksic was the highest paid player in the Premier League and he was on £63k.
When McManaman signed in 1999 the Galaticos shit hadn't kicked off.
Pre Perez (2000) was a very different era in La Liga.
Part of me wonders how it will work out for Trent at R Madrid. This season there’s been two holding midfielders to do the dirty work for him when needed and his been noticeably better defensively. But he’s going to get fuck all help from what’s in front of him there which could be a bit of a killer for him.
I have no issue with him wanting to go and if the club wanted some money they could have taken what was on the table in January. It is just a bit weird that he’s talked about as has been said, wanting to be captain and how it means more and now he’s off. When you look at what he’s already won it’s not as if he needs to leave to carry on winning things by the looks of it.
Eagles have always been my favourite type of bird
On Trent, Real Madrid are the biggest club in football, you don't turn them down.
I think Liverpool fans have every right to think 'Trent' is a wanker, but ultimately they are too big and successful to seethe about it for decades like Tottenham have with Sol Campbell. I reckon he will have a shit time of it there anyway and be back in the Premiership within three years.
Dumfries wishes he could play Barca every week.
How have Barcelona done so well this year? The way they play is absurd.
This Inter team is about eighth in the Premiership on paper. How are they doing it?
Although as Jim said upthread and he's bang on, there are about 6 good teams in the World outside of the BPLSBB.
If they get this penalty then I think the answer is corruption.
Saudis look to be lining up a mega offer for Fernandes.
I guess we'll see if dreams can in fact be buy.
Good game this.
That's a pen for me.
Penalty incoming.![]()
He doesn't get any ball.
Nah no way.
Edit: Actually wait.
