Romulus was a shame because despite it's relatively modest budget I thought it was a slick production and the cast did a good job, just the one major thing wrecked it for me and a few other bits could have been done better. Just felt like a missed opportunity. Hoping Alien Earth is good.

Recently watched Heretic, enjoyed but it could never live up to the build up of the first half of the film which was to be expected.

Hellboy: The Crooked Man. Sweet jesus to think I was excited about this. They genuinely had no budget, and it shows. Unfortunately a solid lead performance is let down by clunky dialogue, mediocre direction and poor supporting performances.

MaXXXine. Mia Goth is a star, that's for sure. I liked this film, even though I thought it was a bit uneven. I'd still rate Pearl as the best of the trilogy, this isn't better than X it's just a different film. I wish I had caught it at the cinema if only to experience the audience reaction to that scene, however it only seemed to have mental 11pm showings near me (maybe because of that scene).

Minecraft Workprint leaked with missing CGI etc. Probably makes it 10x more entertaining.

Watched Conclave, I didn't think I'd like it but it was great.

Never Let Go was fine, nothing amazing but it definitely wasn't predictable or by the numbers which is nice for genre horror, a solid if bland effort.

It's really good, but for some reason I came away thinking it was still less than the sum of its parts.

There's a Naked Gun reboot. It stars Liam Neeson as Frank Drebin. All art is finished.

I'll admit I enjoyed the OJ gag in the trailer.

Mind boggling that people thought absolutely everyone sat through absolutely all of those screeners. I mean, how on earth would the academy enforce that?

The same way they plan to enforce it now I'd guess.

There's 10 films nominated these days for Best Picture, right? If you can't at least watch those before voting, you really have no business being in the Academy at all.

    Second this, really fucking good.

Ash however, is shite, despite Jesse Pinkman and an actress who is stupidly attractive but used to be someone else

Locked is decent 5/10 fun. Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum is also really well done, if you liked Grave Encounters you'll like this.

Lifeline is an okay (almost) entirely single room drama/thriller that we've all seen before.

Lowlifes is a very funny small horror with a decent play on the genre.

And finally MadS is the best horror of the past couple of years - made by Moreau who did the infamous 'French New-Wave Horror' Them

Oh and I don't know if I mentioned it in here at the time, but Red Rooms is still the best film of the last 5 years or so.
