Finally decided to watch some Euphoria and it's alright, but nothing more and now 10 episodes in it's sailing dangerously close to insufferable territory.
It did make me realise though that one of the dullest and most tedious things that can be portrayed on tv is someone suffering a drug addiction. Thankfully the lead character in this has an addiction where the associated negatives can be switched off whenever the plot demands it.
I still think about Dr Kennedy's alcoholism in Neighbours every now and then, which consisted of putting red wine in his bikes 500ml water bottle once a day for his commute and otherwise living a normal life.
Good times.
That's more accurate than the, "OI, OI! I'msodrunk, LADS!" acting you get from Eastenders.
What about Boyd's roid rage?
But yes in my experience working at a convenience store alcoholism is often more a respectable looking person buying two vodka miniatures at 8am on a weekday than the over dramatic soap portrayals. Though you do get some people who just drink and go nuclear of course.
Accuracy = / = the golden age of tv, m8.
Mickey Rourke on Big Brother is going absolutely how you’d imagine it going![]()
That's Euphoria all done. Overall I'd recommend watching it, but I can't remember a tv show with such a varying level of quality. It genuinely lurches from moments that are bordering on Golden Age of TV stuff to absolute shite.
I was planning to consume The Last of Us over a seven-day free trial, but they have opted to release only one episode per week. Get fucked.
Even on IPTV it's only coming out in dribs.![]()
God forbid you have to wait a few weeks to enjoy something.
If you want to watch it all at once, just wait until it's all been released and then do it.
Thanks, Grandad.
Alternatively, just wait for the VHS boxset. Sorted.
That also gives you the chance to avoid altogether if it turns out to be shit.
Can't even remember the last show I watched. I think it might have been that boat mystery one, which I dropped because it was clearly going in a complete nonsense direction. The first few episodes were good.
Watch Adolescence and write a letter to every school within 50 miles demanding action you sexist pig.
Been watching The Righteous Gemstones, which I did not expect to enjoy (wife picked it), but the dynamics are great. Jesse drives it but Judy Leigh gets all the best lines.
Adam Devine and Danny McBride, what else could you want? Two of the funniest people on Earth.
Anyway I saw some hype around the new series (seven) of Black Mirror so just watched the first episode about the brain subscription thing. It’s rubbish. Is it always rubbish, or does this series get better?

S07E02 also boxed off. Won’t bother with the rest.

I'm five episodes down now and it's not been great, I must say.
1, 2 and 4 are probably my favourites so far, with not much to choose between them, but none of them are at a level of some of the previous stuff. 3 and 5 are well made but ultimately boring and I'm about to start on the final one now.
I think it jumped the shark with the episode that worked like one of those "choose your own story" books.
Just started on The Leftovers. Pilot episode was pretty good. I'm not really sure what it is or what it's about yet.
Was it Jimmy or Yev creaming themselves over that one when it first came out? Never got it either.
I think most of the Leftovers is great TV but definitely on the "what's going on?" Territory. It's a very interesting concept for a story and some of the characters are great (the white dressed religious sect for example).
John IIRC (RIP) recommended it and I watched all of season 1. For most of the time watching I was continually asking myself why am I bothering, but I stuck with it and the payoff at the end of Season 1 seemed more than worth it.
That said, I can barely remember anything about it now.
Yeah I watched it because of John. Also can’t remember much about it now but distinctly remember feeling like I’d been trolled while watching it. I don’t remember getting to any pay-off so presume I binned it after a few episodes.

It had some great vignettes/details but I'm not sure it worked as a whole. I didn't get as far as season 3.
John will always be top notch for recommending Southland to me.
That's not great. No further forward after episode two but there's something about it that makes you want to keep watching it.
Nah fuck that. Canned.
It was glorious.

Lol why do people hate Bella Ramsey so much? Like absolute fever pitch hatred. I don't get it.
She looks "special" but I like her acting.
More so in Game of Thrones though.
The second episode of The Last of Us was superb.
Ah, is it an Adolescence thing?
Nah it for sure is that.
Yeah when the second game came out particularly, looking at any public discussion of it meant you were no more than two comments away from an absolute nutter. Even now people are still out there five years later raging that Abby has biceps and whatever else.
