I'm all for giving stiffer sentences to people actually causing criminal damage and attacking the police, but some of the sentences being handed out for supposedly stirring things up are ridiculous when people have been chanting for Israel's destruction every weekend for months with the Met running interference for them online.
I love being able to completely make shit up about the people I don't agree with because the people I do agree with are facing consequences.
(fwiw I'm not a big fan of these social media charges unless you are literally organising the stuff rather than 'appearing to incite' it)

People are currently being jailed for sharing racist memes to nobody on Facebook, because the judge deemed that they had 'to be viewed in the context of the current civil unrest up and down this country'; but matey gets 'spoken to to shut the fuck up and stop being a twat' and the police trying to contextualise his remarks in a way he clearly never meant in order to justify doing nothing about it in the immediate aftermath of a massive terror attack. It is obviously a farce and ought to undermine any faith that these are neutral institutions.
They were also only proscribed as a terror organisation a few months after that footage, largely on the back of their out-sized role in all of the demonstrations, so the Met will have been happy to defend them as just another happy 'community' organisation.
