Anonymity has it's place though. If someone has enough clout on social media and you offer some mild, valid criticism on their post their supporters can dogpile you (often encouraged by the poster) and in some cases have even doxxed and harassed people. I don't have any problem with anyone informing an employer in those circumstances and wouldn't say it constitutes harassment.
In the case of death threats and the like I'd assume it's much easier to do it with impunity under the guise of @L3377r011 than using your actual name.

I don't know where we'd draw the line, because as much as it's harder to make threats as Harvey Yevrah, it's also harder to say things that might encourage threats as Harvey Yevrah. And in a world where the likes of Julian Assange have had their life ruined for calling out war crimes, there is clear value to anonymity.

Why aren't cameras allowed in court? Many reasons, one of which being not circulating someone's image before conviction (alongside not spooking the Jury).
It's why we only had one old photo of Lucy Letby until after her conviction, at which point loads of new photos and videos were released for use.
