#1 because the briefcase needs to go away for a while so don’t people don’t tire of it. They get the cash in done early so that it isn’t a factor for another year.
#2 these guys are both anti-heroes. There’s no strict good guy / bad guy in this feud. I think they’ve booked it brilliantly. There’s going to be a big pay off at some point.

I don't like the thing in ladder matches and pretty much all multi-man matches where everyone's clearly just lying around waiting for their cue to do something before disappearing for another fine minutes.
I thought MITB was largely decent and the MITB matches themselves were pretty good, still don't like the format and wouldn't be sad to see it take a break.
