Mr Cheeks lol.
Mr Cheeks lol.
It's kicked off some cracking discourse on X on how filthy a culture these people encourage.
I was lolling reading through that, and I was going to post it in response to that thing you posted ages ago about one particular junction in Bradford being collision central but I couldn't find it. If you dropped a bomb on that crowd scene it would go some way to making Birmingham un-bankrupt.
Of course the Audi driver's still kicking. Cunt.
Apparently these young folk like to do balloons then drive.
Acid Attack man claimed by the mighty rivers.
Mahow's ears are burning, we've had balloons and rivers mentioned in back-to-back posts.

All for a rebrand if that's what they want to do. What I don't get is absolutely mental shit like this:
Lady, no one IN THE WORLD doesn't buy golden syrup because they think the brand is in an exclusionary space. Not a single fucking one. Go and ask them. You haven't, have you?The company's brand director James Whiteley said the firm needed to show consumers it was moving with the times and meeting their current needs.
"Our fresh, contemporary design brings Lyle's into the modern day, appealing to the everyday British household while still feeling nostalgic and authentically Lyle's," he said.
Helen Edwards, adjunct associate professor of marketing at London Business School, said the rebrand would help to reduce the risk of excluding potential buyers.
"The story of it coming from religious belief could put the brand in an exclusionary space, especially if it was to go viral on X or TikTok," she told the BBC.
I doubt anyone had Golden Syrup in the 2024 Woke Sweepstake. How foolish we look now.
We’ve run absolutely mad with this shit.
Why would golden syrup go viral on X(formerly known as Twitter) or TikTok? Would they not be concerned about the logo if it only went viral on Instagram?
I think the idea is that Richard Dawkins, or one of his very relevant acolytes, would discover that the dead lion logo comes from a Biblical story and make a viral video about how disgraceful this was.
Do they actually care about the logo possibly being exclusionary or whatever or is this just a good way to get some press?
I couldn't have told you what the logo even was. Nor do I ever think about Lyle's golden syrup but here we are now discussing it.
Let's talk about golden syrup more. What does it offer that honey can't cover?
Honey tastes like shit and Golden Syrup is lush.
It kind of did on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/CasualUK/s/UBdkDMnolz
I'm a twit
Not the point but.... Mr Cheeks?
Edit: didn't realise until checking this morning I'd skipped a page.
It's a good job there are quite so many cretinous thoughts unleashed on here or Phonics' honey take might be the pick of the bunch.

I love local news 'crime' tab for it's mixture of grim and banal.
Last week the main story was the editor of a rival local newspaper being arrested for child porn, this week 4 people have been arrested for stealing 3 grand worth of boxer shorts from Next.
Who is paying for the lawyers to keep representing her at all these appeals?
The same people keeping the likes of the Alkaline Attack geezer in the country, I imagine.
The lol eventuality from here is that she gets herself smuggled in, claims asylum, and then can't be deported because she's stateless and vulnerable.
That would be good.
Spikey's already checking out dinghy prices.
"Can you swim, love?"
And then she gets offed by a balloon.
Some bloke set himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy in the US. Fortunately, some cops were on hand to shout at him to "get on the floor" whilst he was fully ablaze whilst another cop kept his gun aimed at him at all times in case he started to throw fire at them.

I'm sorry, I'm just not having it.
This is the crux for me:
Manifest proof that either the internet is terrible for mental health and the awareness stuff makes the situation slightly better than it otherwise would be, or that both the internet and the awareness piece are bad for people.According to the report, young people now have the poorest mental health of any age group - a reversal from two decades ago when they had the lowest incidence of common mental disorders.
Either way, we're letting an entire generation of young people down by allowing the situation to continue in the manner it is and it's so sad.
And this person should simply not be doing the job they are.The director of the Health Foundation, Jo Bibby, said that the "building blocks of health" are things like "good employment and education" and "cross-government action" was needed to stop the creation of a "lost generation" due to poor mental health.
Or a whole heap of people have realised that "mental health" is a great excuse for laziness.
Denmark follow Sweden in dropping their investigation into Nord Stream attack
Or young people can just see how shit their prospects are.
Which are massively overblown, again through the internet, which deals primarily in fear and ideology. By no metric are the prospects for young people in this country 'shit', but that's the narrative that's been driven and if you tell people something enough they'll not only believe it, but also conform to it.
I think a big moment was in the mid 1960s when everyone got TVs and became far more aware of the outside world and what other people did. Presumably the internet proliferation from the 2000s did the same again in that you can not only see edited highlights of how distant people live, but now also edited highlights of their every thought and curated live snapshots from their lives. If you don't have what others have then you think you are a failure and become depressed. That's the generous interpretation, anyway.
Another problem is that housing costs are fucking insane and no young people can afford to buy or rent, but we cover that in every thread.

It's that. The fear side of it leaves people scared and the ideology makes them feel inadequate and it's not only readily available if you want to seek it out, but pumped into our lives on a minute by minute basis.
If you take for example my childhood, my formative years were spent under the very real threat of nuclear war, right up until the cold war ended in 1991. Was I scared about it? Not one bit as it was easy for my parent's to protect me from the harsh potential reality of it. If the same situation were to happen nowadays I think it's a fair shout to think I'd have been a neurotic mess before even hitting puberty. Or, for a more recent example, when I was in my 20s, look at the financial crash of 2008. When that happened there wasn't a pervading narrative that was telling my generation "don't bother as it's all hopeless now".
And I'm not surprised people in their 40s are far less affected by this than those 20 years younger as we were raised with a healthy level of scepticism and crucially had the benefit of living in a time before all this bullshit came along and it's much easier to spot as a result.
It's an absolutely nightmare and (realistically) an unsolvable one.
You need to come on some home visits with me Yev. The reality of many young people in this country is disgraceful. Don't make me wheel out the out of touch #OxfordAccountant hashtags again.
I disagree with alot of Jimmy's politics but he was spot on with the rise of the Reform UK party. People in shitty seaside towns around the country feel forgotten, completely hopeless and it isn't because they saw a sad TikTok.
Their jobs are drying up, the shops are boarding up, the rent is going up, community schemes are drying up and their incomeis going uphas been frozen since 2008, be it benefits, wages or a combination of both.
Talking to them about their prospects would look alot like this:

I suspected the Oxford Accountant line would be wheeled out, but the reality is than when the economic crash happened in 2008 I was earning fifteen grand a year with no formal qualifications to my name other than GCSE's. Is that proof that everything was rosey then? Of course not, but by the same token the fact I earn a hell of a lot more than that now doesn't mean I'm not in a position to object to the assertion that everything is awful.
I presume your role involves seeing some absolute horror stories involving people on the lowest rung of society, but it's always been awful for those people, even though I don't doubt it's got worse. However, when people hold opinions like this:
They're not just talking about those on the lowest rung, are they? They're talking about young people in general. Young people in general who live in a country with the 6th highetst GDP in the World and where more of them than ever have access to a University education should they want one. There is simply no way to describe the prospects for those people as shit and that people do serves as both a disincentive for them to fulfil their potential and also attempts to lump them into the same group as the people who actually have shit prospects, the ones that you're talking about.
It's nonsense and it needs to stop.
Oh and I agree with the Reform point to some extent. The same was true of Brexit - when you tell people that haven't got a pot to piss in that they'll have four grand less a year than the almost nothing they currently have (if we leave), then you really shouldn't be surprised if they still decide to roll the dice.
Prospects for all people in those areas are bad though, no? And not just for young people, which is the point I'm taking issue with.

The Better Help advert I see on YouTube is one of the most disingenuous things I’ve witnessed.
Better Help is predatory as fuck. Not just ambulance chasing, but driving the ambulance into the path of innocent bystanders.
Important viewing.
In what way is it important to watch someone set themselves on fire?
It could be for the reasons that he decided to do it.
Performative suicidal idiocy is not important.
This list is not exhaustive, but it includes:
- The lad has made the ultimate sacrifice and protest. It's worth studying further.
- It's an act which is best understood, and its impact received, visually.
- Thich Quang Duc
- achieves absolutely nothing
- forgotten by the weekend
- ruined his mother's life.
If you're going to do it, do it the Edward Snowden way. Or atleast do something that fucks with the US AirForce in someway.
All this man did was die in pain.

Brother, you can still watch it, think about and still have time to get the The Tipping Point and The Chase in whilst you polish that plate of Sheperd's Pie. There really is no need for the pushback.
I am pushing back against the complete lack of pushback on display. Geezer has access to F16's ffs. Do something.
