That was all Hamilton surely? Russell did show his elbows early on in that exchange, but the crash itself was all Hamilton.
That's on Hamilton no matter how much they hedge around it. I'd love to hear the commentary if Russell had still been Bottas.
That was more Russell's fault than Chandhok is saying it is. He has to be aware of his left flank. Maybe just a racing incident overall.
What happened to Sainz, is he a good old-fashioned DNS?
Yeah some issue with his fuel system.
Attention now turns to how Strulovitch or Sergeant crash out of this race.
Russell is on a stormer.
Are Mossad running the TV van for this race? They keep missing everything.
Such a shame Lewis has calmed down.
Would have been class had he stuck the boot into Tory Boy.
Some team-mate rivalry is class.
This is great now the drivers have no reason to do shitty tyre management. Who would have thought it.
Only seen the one angle of the Mercedes clash but Hamilton could've backed out/took a wider line.
1.8 seconds pit by mclaren
Alonso is lucky he didn’t wipe Leclerc the fuck out there
Checo once again showing his shitness.
Sargent. Fuck me, lad.
That was weird as fuck from Tory Boy.
Commentators seem to think Russell has a chance of catching up with McLarens lol
Gasly's barely driven on the track.
Horrendous driving on his part. Just thrown points away for no reason really. Alpine not much better for that late "give the place back" call either.
I really hope mclaren find more improvements for next year.
Poor Piastri’s face there - he definitely thought he was about to get another track limits
I'm a bit late to the party on this but I'm struggling to see how Hamilton doesn't just turn in on Russell there, he was the one with extra space outside.
Trying to watch the highlights of this are confusing as fuck, the offset pit strategies meaning when they jump between laps it is all over the place.
Yeah, looked like Hamilton at fault, or at least nothing Russell could do, given Russell has the modern sporting mindset of back yourself and fuck the consequences which I don't think an old man like Hamilton can get his head around. I assume his thinking was he'd take his medicine being in a slightly shit position and let him sweep around the outside, which would probably have made more sense for the team.
There's a bloke on the Aston Martin pit wall called Mike Krack. Lol.
Seriously impressive from Perez to be pootling around in the midfield minor places in what is probably the most dominant race car of all time.
Mandatory tyre life windows are a terrible thing.
Verstappen reacting to his engineer/Christian Horner about the most entertainment to be had at the sharp end as usual.
Also thought Logan Sargeant was going to die in the car as he was trying to retire it, I know it's unsympathetic, but that was quite funny.
Looking back at it. Quite a few of the drivers, struggled to stand once they got out their car. Richie Rich staggered over to the ambulance
Max didn't have one track limit violation all race. Perez had enough to earn three separate 5-second penalties, and STILL finished only 10th.
Croft was trying to play up the McLaren duo hunting Verstappen down towards the end ("only 4 seconds gap!") but really Max was just driving round at 90% the whole race. It's sad really that they do this, I'd just wish that they could go balls to the wall the full race for once because this Max+RB19 combo is absolutely deadly and it would be interesting to see just how many seconds he could win by.
In fairness, even Max said it was closer than it should have been. They wouldn't have passed him in normal conditions, but a wrong move, a 5-sec penalty, maybe a safety car (though he had medium vs their hards, so not much room for shenanigans) and it could have turned.
I swear he's been 92 for about ten years now.
Not being cynical, but I wonder if Lord Edis essentially preventing custodial sentences being imposed in all but the most serious of cases has had any baring on this sudden change of heart.
Link it when they actually do it.
Yeah, I don't see it happening. The transition to get a car from right side up to arse over tit is too great.
Would being upside down, and thus the added force of gravity pulling the car off the road help with porpoising or lead to disaster?
In my head, it's the latter. I've also just thought of how tricky it'll be for them to get the car back to a normal position.
It's not going to be like Tony Hawk doing the loop.
Having watched the video, I've no idea who that monumental grifter is but fucking hell, that's one hell of a grift. Only interesting thing was the F1 car size comparison showing how stupidly massive the modern ones are.
I think you'd get porpoising if you could go fast enough, too slow and the ground effect won't be enough to grab the car again. I didn't watch it but surely an older car would be better for this, far lighter and far more positive aero rather than ground effect. Plus I'm not an engine guy but running them both ways up is presumably an issue.
He's going with a hillclimber. Probably with an electric engine to combat that pesky gravity's effects on combustion engines.
Yeah, they alluded to a c.300Kg hill climbing car [ the something Wraith] being the preferred option.
Also sounds like it needs to be electric as combustion engines don't like being upside down.
