Seems one of those classic cases where if you just held your hands up and admitted you got overexuberant they wouldn't be wheeling your mum's corpse out of a church.

Can always rely on my office to have a top-notch take on things.

'There's all this women's rights stuff going around at the moment. No means no, all that stuff. It's a KISS! Blown out of proportion. They want equal pay, and now they want it both ways? You wouldn't see Harry Kane complaining if that Middleton kissed him.'

Is there footage of BBC commentary during the kiss? I presume they probably didn't show any outrage at the vicious sexual assault and violence they just witnessed but would be quite lol if there's a "what emotion as Hermoso celebrates with the head of the football federation, great scenes" from one of the many astute female pundits we are blessed to have on our media.

I would imagine that any such commentary would have been redacted from history so you'd probably need to have a recording of the game to check, and in all honesty who was recording it?

Yeah, can't find anything from a quick youtube search but I wasn't aware that she even excused it, is that correct? So the poor guy seems to have been dropped in all this because of that contentious RFEF statement by some shit PR employee?

My favourite take has been "well they were all hugging and kissing before that, it's only when a man does it..."

You don't want these fuckers around if the kids are playing kiss chase in the playground.

Big fan of Palace's scenes tonight. 2-0 down away to Championship Plymouth having rotated slightly, they make a triple substition in 56th min:

    Eze on for Riedewald
    Ayew on for Rak-Sakiy
    Schlupp on for Ahamada

Each grab an assist within 6 mins and it's 2-3. Big dick energy. Literally and metaphorically.

This is the 3rd string. The 2nd string are all on the treatment table. (Fofana, Nkunku, James, Broja, Badiashile, Mudryk, Lavia, Chalobah and chukwuemeka)

I have spent a lot of time at the AFC Wimbledon training ground recently (Surrey cricket academy use the adjoining facilities), if Chelsea don't beat this lot we should be shut down. They have a tennis net set up in the car park and all the goal nets have holes in them. There's a woman who is always there cleaning bird shit off the benches. In the upstairs 'Players' Lounge' (a big empty room with a ping pong table), there's a large motivational message which just says SUPERB. It's like being inside the interface of Ultimate Soccer Manager 98.

Asked if he was concerned about the reaction to Henderson because of the controversy over his move to Saudi Arabia, Southgate said: "We're picking a team for football reasons."

He added: "There are lots of different club ownership models. There are a lot of different players who play in countries with different religious beliefs.

"I don't know why a player would receive an adverse reaction because of where he plays football.

"I'm a bit lost with some of the questioning."

It's not about the 'controversy' so much as that isn't a serious league and by taking the money to play in it you're declaring that you're no longer seeking sporting excellence as a priority. Fine, but shouldn't be up for national selection.

Same goes for Turkey, MLS, Everton and so on.

This week has seen us linked with Regulion, Cucarella, Alonso, Tagliafico and Bertrand*. Shaw’s injury keeping food on the table for some of these journalists.

    * that’s just the list I could remember quickly. I feel like I have missed a chunk.

I lolled at Southgate's rabbit-in-headlights response to the gay question in his press conference. These people are happy to wave the moral flag for easy PR and then when push comes to shove they are just completely in hoc to Taz and the mullahs.

If I were him I'd be keeping a list of how much Arab investment each of the Mainstram Media organisations has.

A group stage match against PSV? It feels like it's been 10 years but everything stays exactly the same. Swap out Lens for Olympiakos and you could have me convinced I've stepped through a warp in the time continuum.

When I lived in London circa 2008-12 you could barely go into central London on a midweek afternoon without seeing the Olympiakos squad hanging out in Leicester Square before their game against Arsenal/Chelsea/Spurs. Swear I saw them at least 4 times.

Didn't Arsenal lose to PSV in the Europa League 2 years ago? Glamour fixture.
