Onel Hernandez - Cuba
Zesh Rehman - Pakistan
Neil Etheridge - Philippines

Oman is Al-Habsi
Modou Barrow for Gambia.
Not sure he played in the Prem but he's the only Gambian who could have.
I'm sure he got an appearance for Swansea. Probably in the Prem.
Misfud for Malta.
Is Central African Republic Lomano Lua Lua?
Tanzania is Mbwana Samata.
Guinea-Bissau I'm thinking recent and Southampton but I can't think of a name.
CAR I'm thinking West Brom but that's just a hunch, no actual clue.
I'm going to say Yannick Bolasie without knowing if he is from one of those countries or not.
Yannick and Lomano both from the DRC.
Faroe Islands was a City goalkeeper wasn't it?
Genuinely impressed Zesh Rehman has been answered. I always thought he was quite promising but that might have been blinkered bias at the time.
51 PL apps AND a goal.
The Malta player is one of the tougher answers to find.
Guinea-Bissau is, along with Malta, one of the tougher answers to get. Just 1 PL app.
The CAR player did not play for West Brom.
The Faroese player was indeed a City keeper, just 1 PL app for him too.
Zesh Rehman used to play snooker in the same place I did, before Tony Blair closed it down. He was crap, iirc.
Current list:
Armenia – Henrikh Mkhitaryan – Manchester United & Arsenal – 2016-20
Central African Republic
Cuba – Onel Hernandez – Norwich City, 2019-20
Faroe Islands
Gambia – Modou Barrow – Swansea City, 2014-17
Gibraltar – Danny Higginbotham – Manchester United, Derby County, Southampton, Sunderland & Stoke City, 1999-2005 & 2007-12
Guatemala
Guinea-Bissau
Indonesia
Kenya – Victor Wanyama – Southampton & Tottenham Hotspur, 2013-20
Malta
Oman – Ali Al-Habsi – Bolton Wanderers & Wigan Athletic, 2007-08 & 2010-13
Pakistan – Zesh Rehman – Fulham – 2003-06
Philippines – Neil Etheridge – Cardiff City – 2018-19
Suriname
Tanzania – Mbwana Samatta – Aston Villa, 2019-20
Pedro Obiang
Phil or James Younghusband was Indonesia i think. Chelsea youth player from old FM. Not sure if he made any apps though

Whatshisface Haber for Malta?
Not Mifsud for Malta?
Mifsud only played in the Championship, surely.
Suriname also reeks of Southampton.
Cuco Martina for Suriname?
Guatemala has to be Wigan but no idea who
I'm surprised there's only one Surinamese. They've been picking up loads of given up on a Netherlands call-up guys recently.
I think Guatemala must be recent, I have no recollection of any such players from the years I would have noticed.
Cuco and Shelton Martis were Curacao I think.
Mendez-Laing. Fairly confident I read he had very recently declared for Guatemala.
I read about Modou Barrow the other day when looking through the Saudi clubs. He's the Gambian.
Aw twats there's another page.

Obiang is one of two Equatorial Guinea players to have played in the PL. Both of the Younghusband brothers were Philippines internationals, but neither played a PL game.
The Maltese player actually never played international football. He was born in Malta but moved over as a youngster, and played in the inaugural PL season.
Good shout - only made his international debut this summer.
6 players left to get, I'll give some clues shortly.
Indonesia must be a similar deal to Mendez-Laing, as there's no way a player has been signed from there. Some Dutch or Belgian with dual nationality perhaps.
I was so confident with Younghusband.
Vurnon Anita? I’m sure he’s Dutch but might’ve declared for Suriname.
Man City had a backup Faroe Islands goalkeeper....
Yes, it was Football Glory legend Gunnar Nielsen.
I'm a twit
Villa had a midfield that bought from Belgium not too long ago. He was on loan at luton. He was from an remote AFCON
Marvelous Nakamba from Zimbabwe, who have had several PL players, notably Grobbelaar, Ndlovu and Benjani.
Suriname - Clyde Wijnhard?
Did Kondogbia have a brief PL stint?
The Indonesian will be Jordi Amat, declared for them a few years back.
I'll have you know I just googled 'Lewis Donk'.![]()
Wijnhard is an interesting one. He didn't play for the Netherlands and was born in Suriname. But he was born in 1973 when Suriname was still part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and therefore doesn't qualify.
Jordi Amat's story is genuinely mental. He's got Indonesian ancestry through his grandmother, is a descendant of two Kings of Siau, and has now been awarded the title of a prince in Indonesia. He's also already scored an international goal for them.
Donk is correct, made his Suriname debut in 2021.
Remaining list:
Central African Republic - Just 2 PL apps on loan for Burnley in 2009-10. A winger/striker who hasn't really had a career of note, played in Greece, Switzerland, Norway and Andorra. Just 4 international appearances for CAR.
Guinea-Bissau - Winger and ex-Chelsea youth player, made 1 PL app for Fulham in 2013-14. Scored a goal for Crewe on loan in the same season, and has spent most of his career in Crete. Never played for Guinea-Bissau.
Malta - Born in Malta but never played for them, a left-back who played in the inaugural PL season for Leeds. Played for Reading in the 90s and had spells in Scotland, notably with Kilmarnock. Went into coaching and has managed in Vietnam, Kenya and South Africa, with a fair amount of success.
I'll be surprised if any are guessed to be honest.
Fairly sure the CAR chappie is FM legend of yore Frederic Nimani. Or at least I think he was an FM legend, you could get him for peanuts and went on to be immense. Got totally nerfed a patch later. Probs youth career times at Monaco.
Shabani Nonda
Ali Al-Habsi (the Bolton keeper of that's badly misspelled) for Oman.
The one from Faroes is also a keeper I think. City's third choice from some years back. No idea about the name.
Edit: new page 😕
Yeah, I don't think anyone is getting the final two. The players were Mesca (Guinea-Bissau) and Dylan Kerr (Malta).
Full list below:
Armenia – Henrikh Mkhitaryan – Manchester United & Arsenal, 2016-20
Central African Republic - Frederic Nimani - Burnley, 2009-10
Cuba – Onel Hernandez – Norwich City, 2019-20
Faroe Islands - Gunnar Nielsen - Manchester City, 2009-10
Gambia – Modou Barrow – Swansea City, 2014-17
Gibraltar – Danny Higginbotham – Manchester United, Derby County, Southampton, Sunderland & Stoke City, 1999-2005 & 2007-12
Guatemala - Nathaniel Mendez-Laing - Cardiff City, 2018-19
Guinea-Bissau - Mesca - Fulham, 2013-14
Indonesia - Jordi Amat - Swansea City, 2013-17
Kenya – Victor Wanyama – Southampton & Tottenham Hotspur, 2013-20
Malta - Dylan Kerr - Leeds United, 1992-93
Oman – Ali Al-Habsi – Bolton Wanderers & Wigan Athletic, 2007-08 & 2010-13
Pakistan – Zesh Rehman – Fulham, 2003-06
Philippines – Neil Etheridge – Cardiff City, 2018-19
Suriname - Ryan Donk - West Bromwich Albion, 2008-09
Tanzania – Mbwana Samatta – Aston Villa, 2019-20
That was a good one. Never heard of the final two.
Only obscure Leeds left back from that time I can think of would be Kevin Sharp.
